PMHNP7 years of experience
New to Grow

I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of healthcare experience. My background spans psychiatry, emergency medicine, hospital care, and substance use treatment, giving me a unique perspective on the connection between mental and physical health. I provide personalized, evidence-based care for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, trauma, addiction, sleep difficulties, and life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and straightforward. I take time to understand your story, identify what’s holding you back, and create a treatment plan designed to help you feel and function better.

First session

Your first visit is about understanding the full picture, not simply matching symptoms to a diagnosis. We’ll explore what brought you to care, what has changed, and how your mood, anxiety, attention, sleep, relationships, health, and daily functioning have been affected. We’ll review your history, medications, previous treatment, and what has or hasn’t worked. Then we’ll build a personalized plan around your needs and goals. If medication is appropriate, I’ll explain the options, benefits, risks, and alternatives so you understand the “why” behind your treatment. You’ll have room to ask questions and be heard without judgment. My goal is simple: for you to leave with greater clarity, a clear plan, and confidence about what comes next.

Strengths

With 20+ years in healthcare and experience across psychiatry, emergency, hospital, and substance-use settings, I bring a perspective that looks beyond a diagnosis. I understand how mental health, physical health, medications, sleep, stress, relationships, and life circumstances can intersect. My style is warm, direct, and collaborative: I’ll listen without judgment, ask thoughtful questions, and be honest when a different approach may serve you better. I don’t believe in rushed, one-size-fits-all care. You deserve to understand your treatment and have a voice in it. Whether you’re starting treatment, restarting after time away, or discouraged by what you’ve tried before, we’ll work together toward meaningful, sustainable improvement.

Ideal clients

My ideal clients are adults seeking thoughtful, personalized care for anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, trauma/PTSD, mood disorders, or substance use concerns. I especially enjoy working with individuals who may appear successful and high-functioning but privately struggle with intrusive thoughts, persistent worry, difficulty concentrating, low mood, emotional overwhelm, sleep problems, or unhealthy coping patterns. I also welcome individuals in recovery or those concerned about alcohol or substance use. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I take time to understand the whole person not simply a diagnosis and work with each client to develop a treatment plan tailored to their symptoms, goals, and lifestyle. My ideal client wants an active partner in their care and is ready to work toward meaningful change. Together, we may use medication management, evidence-based therapeutic strategies, education, and practical tools to improve stability, functioning, confidence, and overall quality of life.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients understand how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. Together, we identify patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, or unhealthy coping and develop practical strategies to create meaningful change. My approach is collaborative, structured, and focused on skills clients can use in everyday life.
