Erica Evans
Hello, I’m Erica Evans, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care across the lifespan. I believe that every patient deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported. My approach combines medication management with therapeutic interventions, education, and collaborative treatment planning to help patients achieve meaningful and lasting improvements in their mental health and overall well-being. I treat a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, insomnia, mood disorders, and other behavioral health concerns. My goal is to create a safe, judgment-free environment where patients feel comfortable discussing their challenges and empowered to take an active role in their treatment. Together, we will develop a personalized plan that focuses not only on symptom relief but also on improving quality of life, resilience, and long-term emotional wellness.
First session
Your first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a treatment plan that is tailored to your unique needs. My goal is to create a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns. During your initial visit, we will discuss: * What brings you in and the symptoms you’ve been experiencing * Your mental health, medical, and family history * Current and past medications, including what has and has not worked * Lifestyle factors such as sleep, stress, work, relationships, and substance use * Your personal goals for treatment and what you hope to achieve If appropriate, we will also complete standardized mental health screening questionnaires to help guide your care. Together, we will develop an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, psychotherapy, lifestyle recommendations, coping strategies, referrals, or additional evaluations when needed. I believe in shared decision-making, meaning we will discuss your options, answer your questions, and make treatment decisions together. Before you leave, you’ll have a clear understanding of your diagnosis (if appropriate), your treatment recommendations, next steps, and follow-up plan. My priority is to ensure you feel heard, informed, and supported as we work together toward improving your mental health and overall well-being.
Strengths
I believe that effective mental health care starts with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, compassion, and collaboration. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and empowered to be yourself. Patients often appreciate my: * Compassionate, nonjudgmental approach that allows them to feel comfortable sharing openly. * Active listening and genuine desire to understand their experiences. * Collaborative style, where treatment decisions are made together based on your goals and preferences. * Evidence-based approach that combines the latest psychiatric research with individualized care. * Holistic perspective, recognizing the connection between mental, physical, emotional, and social well-being. * Thorough evaluations that look beyond symptoms to identify underlying factors affecting your mental health. * Commitment to education, ensuring you understand your diagnosis, treatment options, medications, and expected outcomes. * Focus on practical strategies that help you build resilience, develop healthy coping skills, and create lasting change. * Warm, approachable personality that helps patients feel seen, heard, and valued throughout their treatment journey. Whether you’re seeking support for anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, mood disorders, or another mental health concern, my commitment is to partner with you in developing a personalized treatment plan that promotes healing, growth, and long-term wellness.
Ideal clients
I welcome individuals from all backgrounds and stages of life who are ready to take an active role in improving their mental health. My ideal client is someone seeking compassionate, evidence-based care and is open to working collaboratively to achieve meaningful, lasting change. I work with adolescents and adults experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, trauma, mood disorders, OCD, stress, life transitions, and other behavioral health challenges. Whether you are seeking support for a new concern or have been managing symptoms for years, I strive to meet you where you are without judgment. The best outcomes occur when patients are willing to communicate openly, participate in treatment, and engage in follow-up care. Together, we’ll develop a personalized plan that may include medication management, therapeutic interventions, education, and practical coping strategies designed to help you improve your emotional well-being, strengthen resilience, and enhance your overall quality of life. If you’re looking for a provider who listens, values collaboration, and treats the whole person—not just the diagnosis—I would be honored to partner with you on your mental health journey.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques into medication management visits and psychotherapy to help patients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. CBT is a practical, evidence-based approach that focuses on identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and developing healthier ways to respond to life’s challenges.
