Laura Bernal
I am a psychiatric NP dedicated to providing thoughtful, evidence-based care for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, and related concerns. I take a collaborative and patient-centered approach, focusing on understanding each person’s unique needs and goals.
I take the time to listen carefully and provide clear explanations so patients feel informed and comfortable with their treatment plan.
My work combines careful evaluation, medication management, and practical support to help patients feel more stable, focused, and in control of their daily lives.
First session
During our first session, we will take time to understand your symptoms, history, and goals in a structured and supportive way. I will ask detailed questions to get a clear picture of what you’re experiencing and discuss possible diagnoses and treatment options. If appropriate, we may begin a medication plan and outline next steps so you leave with clarity and a path forward.
Strengths
My approach is collaborative, practical, and focused on results. I take the time to listen carefully and provide clear explanations so patients feel informed and comfortable with their treatment plan. I aim to create a supportive environment while also being efficient and goal-oriented, helping patients see meaningful improvement in their symptoms and daily functioning.
Ideal clients
I work best with people who are experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress, or difficulty managing daily responsibilities. Many of my patients are balancing school, work, family, and personal demands and are looking for support to feel more stable, focused, and in control. I provide structured, collaborative care focused on evaluation and medication management, while also offering practical strategies to improve day-to-day functioning and overall well-being.
Treatment methods
Supportive
I incorporate supportive therapy into my psychiatric care by creating a safe, non-judgmental space where patients can openly discuss their concerns. I focus on helping patients better understand their symptoms, build coping strategies, and navigate daily challenges while we work together on an effective treatment plan. This approach complements medication management and supports overall emotional well-being.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use a solution-focused approach to help patients identify practical steps toward feeling better and improving their daily functioning. Sessions are goal-oriented and focused on building on strengths, finding what works, and making meaningful progress over time. This approach is used alongside psychiatric evaluation and medication management to support efficient and effective care.
