Have you tried therapy before and walked away feeling misunderstood? Have you worried that you wouldn't be able to share everything about yourself in session, fearing judgement? When we don’t fit the norms around us, it’s pretty easy for anxiety and depression to wreak havoc on our mental health and self-esteem, making it more difficult to feel comfortable enough to be vulnerable. Having struggled with alienation myself, I’ve gravitated to helping people who experience this too. Although this can be something anyone goes through, I often find myself supporting people who are neurodiverse, LGBQTA+, ethically nonmonogamous, those with “alternative” faiths, and teens. In addition to supporting specific identities, I help people reduce their stress and anxiety, adjust to uncomfortable changes, climb out of depression, and build the confidence, insight, and judgment they need to improve themselves to impact their life. I pride myself on creating a safe, comfortable environment where you can express yourself freely, so we both learn more about who you are and what you need. Whether we work together or not, I'm really glad you're taking the time to consider therapy and care for yourself <3

I am a compassionate, culturally responsive therapist who believes healing begins when people have space to be fully seen, heard, and understood. I work collaboratively with clients to explore the experiences, relationships, beliefs, and patterns influencing their emotional well-being. My approach is warm, practical, and individualized. I recognize that mental health does not exist separately from culture, identity, family, spirituality, relationships, or daily responsibilities. I strive to understand the whole person rather than focusing only on symptoms. In therapy, I help clients slow down, make meaningful connections, and develop tools they can use in everyday life. I believe clients already possess valuable strengths and insight, even when stress or painful experiences make those qualities difficult to recognize. My goal is to provide room to breathe, space to become, and support for creating lasting, meaningful change.

Hi, I’m Christina, and I believe therapy works best when it feels real, human, and—sometimes—a little humorous. I use a trauma-informed and narrative approach to help clients make sense of their stories and find new ways to move forward. I specialize in holding space for the deep-thinkers and cycle-breakers, the individuals who have spent a lifetime looking inward and dismantling generational patterns, yet still feel the friction of a world demanding 'more' at the expense of 'being.' My approach combines a lifelong passion for psychology and therapeutic processes with a multicultural, spiritually grounded worldview. As a mother, a doctoral candidate, and a business owner, I don't just teach boundaries; I live them. I am a 'Keturah-sized' bridge in the wellness gap for those who have cycled through therapists searching for a peer who truly sees them. My philosophy towards Therapy is the following: "The nice thing about things that are urgent is that if you wait long enough they aren’t urgent anymore.” --Dr. Amos Tversky The demands of modern society have created an environment in which every moment of every day seems to be urgent. This constant sense of urgency leads to stress, which in turn makes you feel overwhelmed and unfulfilled. You may feel like each day is no more than a series of crises and that you can’t keep up with everything. Finding your way out of this loop requires stepping outside of your daily routine and figuring out what really matters to you. It takes a great deal of courage to seek help for oneself. I commend you for taking the first step towards improving your life and will stand by and encourage you along this journey together.

I truly saw the need for more mental health professionals in my community when I lost my father in 2006. Since that day, I began my journey of understanding the mind and how it works. We go through many major life transitions such as breakups, divorce, having children, new professions, loss of income, moving, pandemic stress and more. Most do not realize just how traumatic these seemingly “normal” events are to us at times. I am here to help you if you feel overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, angry or confused concerning anything that has been thrown at you in your life. If you feel that what you are dealing with is too much to handle on your own, please reach out to me. We cannot stop this cycle of numbing or ignoring mental health issues in our world if we do not start within. As a mental health advocate, I am here for you. I have seen the impact of a lack of relatable and accessible mental health programs and providers. I am here to be the bridge and get you the solutions, support, and guidance you need.

I believe that healing and growth doesn't require perfection-it begins with curiosity. Therapy can be a place where you slow down, make sense of your experiences, and begin taking steps towards your best possible self. Having had a natural curiosity most of my life, I bring that aspect into my therapy work with clients. Don't worry, you will not be bombarded with 1001 questions, but a gentle form of interest into the lives of those sitting across from me, drives my work.

Counseling is my gift that makes room for me. It is more than a job to me. It is a part of who I am. I am a Christian and this you will see even in the counsel that is given. I will not judge anyone but I will challenge anyone to meet the goals they set in counseling. I am a Father figure and very passionate about what I do.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Georgia. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Georgia from Athens to Savannah! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Georgia.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
