Hi! I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in supporting teens and young adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and major life transitions. Born and raised in Sri Lanka, I bring my own immigrant experience alongside professional training to help clients manage cultural challenges, family dynamics, and identity exploration. I use evidence-based approaches like CBT and DBT within a warm, supportive space where you can feel truly seen and supported on your journey to healing.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session with me, we’ll take time to get to know each other and understand what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask about your background, current challenges, and goals to get a full picture of your experience. This is a safe, non-judgmental space where you can share at your own pace. Together, we’ll start exploring ways to support your healing and growth.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a provider is my ability to create a warm, trusting, and non-judgmental space where clients feel safe to be their authentic selves. I bring empathy, cultural awareness, and lived experience as an immigrant, which helps me connect deeply with clients from diverse backgrounds. I also use a flexible approach, blending evidence-based therapies with humor and genuine care to support meaningful healing and growth.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I’m best positioned to serve teens and young adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, suicidal thoughts, and major life changes. I have a deep understanding of the challenges faced by immigrants, first-generation clients, and people of color, especially those navigating cultural pressures and intergenerational trauma. I also support clients on the autism spectrum and those seeking help with identity and family dynamics. My approach is compassionate and culturally sensitive, creating a safe space where you can feel understood and supported.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

I explore how early relationships impact your current emotional patterns and connections. Healing attachment wounds helps build trust, security, and healthier bonds in your life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I help clients identify unhelpful thoughts and patterns that contribute to anxiety, depression, or stress. Together, we develop practical tools to challenge these thoughts and create healthier ways of thinking and coping.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I teach skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness. These tools help clients manage overwhelming feelings and improve relationships with themselves and others.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I understand how culture, identity, and systemic factors affect your experience. Together, we honor your background and values while addressing challenges in a way that respects your unique story and worldview.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I create a warm, non-judgmental space where you feel heard and accepted exactly as you are. This helps you explore your feelings and grow at your own pace, building self-awareness and confidence.
