Welcome! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in Florida. I've been practicing for over 8 years, and I am also a Qualified Supervisor. I've had an amazing career with experience in both the clinical and operational realms of behavioral/mental health treatment, as well as substance use disorder treatment. I work with my clients to achieve greater clarity and challenge the thoughts, beliefs, and emotions that may be holding you back from the life you deserve.
During our first session, we will spend time exploring what's brought you to therapy and where you would like to find relief. This will involve reviewing some of your past, as well as establishing reasonable goals. We will begin
I do not believe therapy can be structured into a "one size fits all" formula. We will work together to gain trust and clarity; I will reflect patterns that become evident, and you will be given a choice: to change, or not to change. I have worked with people recovering from substance use disorders, as well as provided guidance and clinical supervision to teams of therapists and registered interns. I encourage everyone I work with to expand what they think they already know. We will create new neural pathways together that will forge a new reality.
I enjoy working with adults who are truly ready to engage in the therapeutic process—those who are willing to explore and challenge their own thought patterns and embrace the possibility of change. If you are someone in the helping profession, especially working as a therapist yourself, you need someone skilled and direct to support your personal growth. I know how difficult it is for a therapist to find a quality therapist. Individuals in early, or long-term recovery, ready to continue the work to understand yourself and your patterns in a new way would also greatly benefit from working with me. It is an honor for me to work with people who are open to trying new approaches, recognizing that growth often requires stepping outside of familiar habits.
Being skilled in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) involves a deep understanding of how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected. Everything is interconnected. It requires the ability to identify and challenge negative patterns of thinking, feeling, and doing and replace them with healthier, more adaptive options. Together, we will work through structured, goal-oriented techniques to manage stress, anxiety, and other mental health concerns.
Being skilled in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) means having expertise in managing intense emotions, developing mindfulness, and building healthier interpersonal relationships. Core DBT skills will be taught like distress tolerance, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness in an effort to regain balance in the face of overwhelming emotions.
Being skilled in mindfulness-based therapy involves guiding clients to cultivate present-moment awareness and non-judgmental acceptance of their thoughts and emotions. Mindfulness practices will be taught such as meditation and breathing techniques, that help individuals reduce stress, increase emotional regulation, and improve overall mental clarity. Self-awareness and compassion are fostered by helping clients detach from negative thought patterns and react to life’s challenges with greater calm and intention.
