Hello, and welcome! I'm Dr. Alesha Caldwell, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 10 years of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care to adults and older adults. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress, life transitions, and relationship challenges using approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, EMDR-informed techniques, and strengths-based care. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, empowered, and equipped with practical tools to improve their emotional well-being. I believe in partnering with each client to develop personalized treatment plans that foster healing, resilience, and lasting personal growth.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During your first session, we'll spend time getting to know one another and discussing what brings you to therapy. I'll ask questions about your current concerns, personal history, relationships, strengths, and goals so I can gain a better understanding of your unique experiences. This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions, share what you're hoping to achieve, and determine whether we're a good fit. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and nonjudgmental. Together, we'll begin developing a personalized treatment plan and identify practical strategies to help you manage your symptoms, build resilience, and move toward the life you want. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard, respected, and empowered from the very first session.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach stands out because I believe therapy should be both compassionate and practical. I take the time to understand each client's unique experiences, strengths, values, and goals, recognizing that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. I create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe exploring difficult emotions while learning effective strategies to create meaningful change. I integrate evidence-based therapies—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, EMDR-informed techniques, and strengths-based interventions—to tailor treatment to each individual's needs. Together, we focus not only on reducing symptoms but also on building resilience, improving relationships, strengthening emotional regulation, and developing lasting skills that clients can continue using long after therapy ends. My goal is to empower clients to gain insight, overcome obstacles, and create a healthier, more fulfilling life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, or stuck. They may be struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, workplace stress, or burnout. Some feel disconnected from themselves or others, while others are seeking healthier ways to cope with difficult emotions, improve communication, establish boundaries, or heal from past experiences. My clients are often motivated to better understand themselves, develop effective coping skills, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change. Whether they are seeking relief from current symptoms or working toward personal growth, I provide a supportive and collaborative environment where they can feel heard, gain insight, and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I assist clients in recognizing unhelpful thinking patterns, challenging cognitive distortions, and developing healthier perspectives that improve coping, confidence, and decision-making. CBT is especially helpful for clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, and relationship challenges.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I assist clients in recognizing unhelpful thinking patterns, challenging cognitive distortions, and developing healthier perspectives that improve coping, confidence, and decision-making. CBT is especially helpful for clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, and relationship challenges.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Rather than avoiding uncomfortable thoughts or feelings, clients learn skills to make room for their experiences, increase self-compassion, and take intentional actions toward the life they want to create.

Christian Counseling

I believe emotional healing and spiritual growth can work together, and I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their challenges through the integration of clinical skills and their personal faith values.
