Hello and welcome! I’m glad you are here taking the next step for your mental health :) My name is Kate and I have been working in the mental health field as a psychiatric nurse practitioner for 9 years. I obtained undergraduate degrees in both psychology and nursing at OSU and completed my Master’s degree in Psychiatric Nursing. I have experience working as a psychiatric nurse in adolescent inpatient units and an NP in community mental health programs. I have worked as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner treating all age groups: 4 years + , adolescents, adults and geriatric clients. I specialize in helping clients manage their symptoms so they can thrive despite any diagnosis. I use expertise in the treatment of anxiety, major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, autism, schizophrenia/schizoaffective and anger management. I accept and treat *all* levels of acuity. I am incredibly passionate about helping clients to become the best version of themselves and living their life free of mental health burdens. The goal is to optimize your functioning so you can live life as the best version of yourself. You do not have to suffer, no matter the diagnosis, or circumstances, we will work together to get you where you want to be.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will start with introductions and then dive into the specifics of how you have been feeling. We will go over your mental health history, brief physical health history, and the documents you were sent to fill out regarding your specific symptoms prior to the appointment. I will answer any questions you may have regarding diagnosis, treatment options or medications. The goal is to have you leave the session feeling confident about your options and treatment goals. Let’s get you feeling better! Note: Stimulants cannot be prescribed (focalin, ritalin, adderall, vyvanse). However, there are non-stimulant options available for ADHD treatment that we can try. Cash pay clients: initial: $122 follow-up: $77

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths are being able to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you feel truly listened to. We will approach treatment together, with you always having a say in how we approach your treatment. I feel confident in my ability to provide a trusting relationship with you so you are never afraid to discuss any thoughts, feelings or beliefs you have been holding onto. This is a judgment-free zone.

My treatment methods

Psychoeducation

I believe patient education is one of the most important aspects of treatment. I want you to leave feeling informed, empowered and confident in understanding your diagnosis and how specific medications might help to alleviate your symptoms.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I will meet you where you are regarding any coping skills you might be interested in trying. If you are interested in working with mindfulness-based therapy, I can help you with specific meditations, affirmations and grounding techniques to assist in addressing your mood, self-esteem, anxiety or other troublesome symptoms.
