Hello! I am an independently licensed clinical social worker (LICSW), based in Massachusetts. I have been a clinician for over 20 years. I earned my Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Northeastern University in 1999 and my Masters Degree in Social Work from Simmons University in 2003. I work with individuals to help them develop the skills to more effectively manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life as a result.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I will give you a brief overview of the intake process as well as the overall therapy process. I will ask a variety of questions about you to get to know you as well as the challenges you have been facing. This will help me in developing treatment goals with you which will give our treatment sessions a more focused direction.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have an innate ability to make my patients feel more comfortable in what can feel like an uncomfortable process to some. I have extensive training and experience in treating anxiety and OCD, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have utilized this method for approximately past 10 years. This treatment method can help with motivation and providing an alternative way for you to view the problems and unhelpful thoughts you struggle with.

Trauma Informed Care

Over the past several years, I have increasingly incorporated this into how I approach patients. It is important to be sensitive to any history of trauma and utilizing this awareness in interactions with patients who have this history.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

i have utilized this method for ~ 20 years. At its most basic, there is an interplay between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and being able to focus and intervene in any one of these areas at a time can result in a positive impact on the other areas

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have utilized components of this method for ~ past 10 years. At its most basic, being able to help see that one can have have two "opposing" thoughts and/or feelings at the same time, and both can be equally valid, what the 4 modules of DBT are, and how to apply them.

Psychodynamic

I have utilized this approach for past 21 years. The basic view is that your past experiences, relationships, attachments have an impact on who develop into and how you view and interact with the world. This is important for me in hearing the stories that both shaped you and brought you into my "office" today.
