Hi, I’m Alisa McGee, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 16 years of experience in the mental health field. I bring an energetic, compassionate presence to therapy and value the role of positivity and even laughter in the healing process. I work with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I aim to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space that encourages both reflection and meaningful growth.
In our first session, we’ll get to know each other and start building a foundation of trust. I’ll ask questions to understand what brings you to therapy, your current challenges, and your goals. You can expect a safe, welcoming space where you feel heard — and we’ll move at your pace to create a plan that fits your needs.
Clients often tell me they feel safe, seen, and understood in our work together — and that’s something I take pride in. With over 16 years of experience, I bring both clinical skill and genuine warmth to the therapy space. My strengths lie in helping clients feel at ease while guiding them toward insight, emotional balance, and lasting change. I combine evidence-based techniques with humor, compassion, and cultural sensitivity. My ability to connect deeply and meet clients where they are allows for honest, impactful, and empowering work.
I’m best suited to work with clients who are ready to explore their patterns, deepen their self-awareness, and actively participate in the healing process. My ideal clients may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected — but they’re open to growth and curious about learning new skills. I enjoy working with adults and couples who value insight, emotional balance, and healthier communication in their relationships.
I have over 15 years of experience using CBT. I use CBT to support clients in building practical coping skills, improving emotional regulation, and achieving personal goals.
I am certified in DBT and use its core skills—mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness—to help clients manage emotions and improve relationships.
When working with couples, I integrate evidence-based approaches such as the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to facilitate effective communication and strengthen relational bonds.
