Madeline Cintron-Hall
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) with more than 25 years of experience providing behavioral health services in both Florida and New York. Since 2011, I provide Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services, supporting employees and their families through personal, workplace, and life challenges. My multicultural heritage and life experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and challenges that people bring to therapy. Growing up in New York and later establishing roots in Tampa, Florida, I have developed a strong understanding of the resilience required to navigate life's transitions, challenges, and opportunities for growth.
First session
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, and it's natural to have questions about what to expect. My goal is to provide a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns at your own pace. During our first session, we will spend time getting to know one another. I will ask questions about what brings you to therapy, your personal history, current concerns, strengths, and the goals you hope to achieve. This conversation also gives you the opportunity to ask questions, learn about my therapeutic approach, and determine whether we are a good fit for working together. I believe meaningful change happens through a trusting therapeutic partnership that recognizes each person's unique experiences, values, and resilience. Whether you are seeking support for anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief and loss, relationship concerns, workplace stress, life transitions, or other emotional or behavioral health challenges, we will work together to develop a plan that meets your individual needs. There is no expectation to share everything during the first visit. Therapy is a process that moves at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My priority is to help you feel heard, respected, and supported as we begin your journey toward greater well-being and personal growth.
Strengths
I have a collaborative, and culturally sensitive approach to therapy, believing that meaningful change occurs when individuals build upon their strengths in a supportive therapeutic partnership. I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief and loss, relationship concerns, life transitions, workplace stress, and other emotional and behavioral health challenges.
Ideal clients
My ideal clients are adults, working professionals, employees, executives, healthcare professionals, first responders, caregivers, and individuals experiencing life transitions who are seeking support to improve their emotional well-being and overall quality of life. I also work with couples and families who want to strengthen communication, resolve conflict, and build healthier relationships. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief and loss, workplace stress, burnout, relationship challenges, caregiver stress, or major life changes. They may feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, stuck, or uncertain about how to move forward, but are motivated to better understand themselves, develop healthier coping strategies, and create meaningful, lasting change. Clients who benefit most from working with me value a collaborative, compassionate, and culturally responsive therapeutic relationship. They are looking for a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where they can safely explore challenges, build on their strengths, develop resilience, and achieve personal, emotional, and professional growth at a pace that feels right for them.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thinking patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, relationship difficulties, or other emotional challenges. Through a collaborative and goal-oriented process, I help clients develop practical coping skills, challenge negative thought patterns, improve emotional regulation, and build healthier behavioral responses that support lasting change. When working with couples and families, I incorporate CBT techniques to improve communication, identify patterns that contribute to conflict, strengthen problem-solving skills, and promote healthier interactions. Clients learn to recognize how thoughts and assumptions influence emotions and behaviors within relationships, allowing them to respond more effectively and build stronger, more supportive connections.Throughout treatment, I provide a compassionate, collaborative, and culturally responsive environment where clients feel safe exploring challenges while bu CBT is tailored to each client's unique needs, empowering them to develop practical tools, increase resilience, and create meaningful, sustainable improvements in their emotional well-being, relationships, and overall quality of life.
Grief Therapy
I provide grief therapy to support individuals, couples, and families as they navigate the emotional, physical, and psychological impact of loss. Grief can result from the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, caregiving responsibilities, changes in health, career transitions, loss of identity, or other significant life changes. My approach recognizes that grief is a deeply personal experience with no "right" timeline, and I provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where clients can process their emotions at a pace that feels comfortable and meaningful. For adults, working professionals, executives, healthcare professionals, first responders, and caregivers, grief often intersects with workplace demands, compassion fatigue, burnout, and ongoing responsibilities. I help clients understand the grieving process, identify healthy ways to cope with difficult emotions, manage stress, and navigate the challenges of balancing personal healing with daily life and professional obligations. For couples and families, grief therapy focuses on improving communication, fostering mutual understanding, and recognizing that each person may experience and express grief differently. Together, we work to strengthen relationships, reduce conflict that may arise during times of loss, and develop supportive strategies that promote healing and connection.
Group Therapy
I integrate therapeutic crochet activities as an optional, strengths-based intervention to complement traditional psychotherapy for clients who enjoy creative, hands-on approaches to healing. Crochet can promote relaxation, mindfulness, emotional expression, and a sense of accomplishment while providing a calming, structured activity that encourages clients to slow down and remain present in the moment. Crochet can serve as a practical stress-management tool that supports emotional regulation and self-care. The repetitive, rhythmic movements involved in crocheting may help reduce stress, improve focus, encourage mindfulness, and provide healthy coping during periods of anxiety, grief, burnout, or emotional overwhelm. Within therapy sessions, crochet may be incorporated as a grounding activity while clients process difficult emotions, explore life experiences, or develop healthier coping strategies. Engaging in a creative activity can make it easier for some individuals to discuss challenging topics, reduce emotional intensity, and increase feelings of safety and comfort during the therapeutic process. Participation in crochet-based activities is always optional and is integrated alongside evidence-based therapeutic approaches—not as a replacement for them. Whether used as a mindfulness exercise, a grounding technique, or a form of creative expression, crochet can support resilience, emotional well-being, and personal growth while helping clients develop practical self-care strategies they can continue outside of therapy.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I incorporate Mindfulness-Based Therapy to help clients develop greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations while learning to respond to life's challenges with intention rather than reacting automatically. Mindfulness encourages clients to remain present in the moment, reduce self-judgment, and cultivate self-compassion, supporting improved emotional well-being and resilience. For adults, working professionals, employees, executives, healthcare professionals, first responders, caregivers, and individuals navigating life transitions, mindfulness-based interventions can be especially beneficial in managing anxiety, depression, workplace stress, burnout, ADHD, grief, and caregiver fatigue. Together, we practice evidence-based mindfulness techniques such as mindful breathing, grounding exercises, body awareness, meditation, and present-moment awareness to help reduce emotional distress, improve focus, strengthen emotional regulation, and enhance overall coping. When working with couples and families, I integrate mindfulness practices to promote active listening, emotional awareness, empathy, and thoughtful communication. These skills help individuals pause before reacting, better understand one another's perspectives, reduce conflict, and strengthen healthier, more supportive relationships. Throughout the therapeutic process, clients build practical skills that can be incorporated into daily life to reduce stress, increase resilience, improve emotional regulation, and foster greater clarity, self-awareness, and overall well-being. My goal is to empower clients to develop sustainable habits that support meaningful personal, emotional, relational, and professional growth while creating lasting positive change.
Gottman method
I use the Gottman Method to help couples strengthen their relationships by improving communication, increasing emotional connection, managing conflict effectively, and building lasting trust. Based on decades of research on healthy relationships, the Gottman Method provides practical, evidence-based strategies that help couples understand one another's needs, navigate challenges, and create a stronger foundation for long-term relationship satisfaction. In therapy, I work collaboratively with couples to identify patterns of communication and interaction that may contribute to conflict, emotional distance, or misunderstandings. Together, we develop skills to improve active listening, express emotions and needs respectfully, manage disagreements constructively, and strengthen friendship, intimacy, and mutual respect. Couples often seek support while navigating relationship stress related to work demands, caregiving responsibilities, parenting, life transitions, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, or other personal challenges. Using Gottman Method interventions, I help partners recognize each other's strengths, increase empathy, rebuild trust when appropriate, and develop healthier ways to respond to conflict while maintaining emotional connection.
