My path into counseling began in 2006, working as an addiction counselor in the prison system. Since then, I've worked in a variety of settings, including private practice, psychiatric hospitals, and intensive outpatient programs. These experiences have given me the opportunity to work with people from many different backgrounds and life circumstances, while reinforcing a belief that lasting change happens through connection, self-awareness, and authenticity. Clients often describe me as warm, genuine, and easy to talk to, while also being direct enough to gently challenge unhelpful patterns when they arise. I believe therapy should feel like a real conversation, not a clinical checklist. While I draw from evidence-based approaches such as CBT, mindfulness, and narrative therapy, I also believe growth happens when we slow down, reconnect with ourselves, and pay attention to what truly matters. My love of nature and the outdoors has shaped both my life and my work, and I value helping clients find greater balance, self-acceptance, and alignment with their values. My goal is not to fix people, but to help them recognize their strengths, trust themselves, and move forward with greater confidence, clarity, and purpose.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a strong foundation for our work together. We'll review any questions you may have about the intake paperwork, informed consent, confidentiality, and the counseling process so you feel comfortable and informed from the start. We'll also spend time discussing what brought you to therapy, the challenges you're currently facing, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I'll ask questions about different areas of your life, including relationships, stressors, personal history, strengths, and coping strategies, so I can develop a better understanding of your unique experiences and needs. This session is also a chance for you to ask questions, share what you're looking for in a therapist, and determine whether my approach feels like a good fit for you. Together, we'll begin identifying goals and creating a plan to help you move toward the changes and growth you would like to see in your life.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Clients often tell me they appreciate that I am genuine, down-to-earth, and easy to talk to. While my work is grounded in professional training and nearly two decades of clinical experience, some of my greatest lessons have come from navigating life's challenges firsthand. Like many people, I have experienced setbacks, loss, uncertainty, and periods of significant change. Those experiences have reinforced my belief that growth is possible, resilience can be cultivated, and healing is rarely a straight line. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel heard and understood, but I am also willing to ask difficult questions, challenge unhelpful patterns, and encourage growth when clients feel stuck. I believe people are often far more resilient than they realize, and I enjoy helping them recognize strengths they may have overlooked. My goal is to provide both support and practical guidance so clients leave sessions with greater insight, confidence, and a clearer path forward.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with adults struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, self-doubt, low self-esteem, burnout, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Many of my clients are highly capable individuals who appear successful on the outside but internally struggle with overthinking, negative self-talk, impostor syndrome, perfectionism or feeling disconnected from themselves and their values. My approach is collaborative, practical, and client-centered. I enjoy helping clients identify unhelpful patterns, build self-confidence, establish healthy boundaries, improve communication, and develop effective coping skills. I am particularly passionate about supporting individuals who want to move beyond limiting beliefs and old narratives so they can live more authentically, cultivate greater self-acceptance, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we'll identify unhelpful thought processes, patterns, and uncover underlying core beliefs that may be keeping you stuck, and develop healthier ways of coping. CBT is especially helpful for anxiety, perfectionism, low self-esteem, people-pleasing, and navigating life transitions.

Narrative

Narrative Therapy helps clients recognize that they are not defined by painful experiences, limiting beliefs, or the stories they've come to believe about themselves. Together, we'll explore where those narratives began, identify patterns of negative self-talk and self-doubt that may contribute to anxiety, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or impostor syndrome, and begin rewriting those stories in ways that reflect your strengths, resilience, and authentic values. My goal is to help clients develop a more compassionate, empowered, and authentic view of themselves as they move forward.

Attachment-based

Attachment-Based Therapy explores how early relationships shape the way we view ourselves, connect with others, and navigate the world. Together, we'll identify patterns that may contribute to people-pleasing, codependency, relationship difficulties, insecure attachment, or challenges with trust and boundaries. By increasing insight and developing healthier ways of relating to yourself and others, you'll be better equipped to build more secure, authentic, and fulfilling relationships.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-Based Therapy helps clients become more aware of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations without immediately reacting to them. By learning to slow down and stay present, clients can reduce overwhelm, improve emotional regulation, and respond to life's challenges with greater intention rather than operating on autopilot. I often incorporate mindfulness practices to help clients manage anxiety, reduce stress, increase self-awareness, and reconnect with themselves and what matters most.

Integrative

Integrative Therapy recognizes that no single therapeutic approach works for every person. Rather than relying on one method, I thoughtfully combine the approaches described above with additional evidence-based techniques—including ACT, DBT, and Person-Centered Therapy—to meet your unique needs and goals. I also integrate Motivational Interviewing to support clients navigating behavior change, including substance use, habit change, and other areas where motivation and ambivalence may be present. This flexible approach helps clients build practical coping skills, deepen self-awareness, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful, lasting change while reconnecting with their authentic selves.
