I am an inspired psychotherapist. Artfully blending guided inner work, concrete skill building, and compassionate connection and support. My career started almost 20 years ago as a yoga instructor. The mindfulness, meditation, and breathing practices came together within a physical practice to provide a holistic strategy to health and wellbeing. Over time I began to enjoy working one on one with clients, and my expertise expanded to incorporate physical fitness training. I developed a true love for meeting with another person and providing the space to hear and honor their story. As a psychotherapist now, I recognize the importance of connecting mind, body, and spirit in my work with clients. I have a very eclectic therapeutic style and draw interventions from various approaches. I am mostly inspired by and trained in the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model. I start our work together knowing that you are made up of many beautiful parts, and already have within you the ability to heal. From those assumptions we work together to help you build a stronger, more compassionate relationship with your Self, and take steps towards a more fulfilling life.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

At our first session I will provide space for you to share a holistic view of yourself, your experiences, and your goals. I use thoughtful questions to help ease the discomfort of sharing and always allow clients to go at their own pace. Together we will clarify your goals for therapy and even discuss our plans for getting there. While I am a goal-oriented therapist, and want to see you make positive changes, I also recognize that change often takes time. As they say in IFS "Slower is faster". At times it may feel like you aren't progressing fast enough. But as we patiently explore various aspects of your life, you are building a stronger, more resilient sense of self, which will catapult you into the next wonderful phase of your life. Sessions are often a mix of venting, brain dumping, self-reflection prompts, meditative or mindfulness experiences, learning, skill building, and of course the occasional laughter. My hope is that we both enjoy our time together while feeling deeply connected to the work we are doing. There is nothing like a strong therapeutic relationship, and it can absolutely make or break your progress.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

After the first session, client's often say "Wow, I feel like you really listened to me. I think this is going to be a good match!". I think it feels this way because while I have so many tools to "help", I often leave them in tucked away. I show up to sessions with an open mind, not an agenda. I truly want to hear what you have to say. I believe you are the expert in your life, not me. Don't get me wrong, we will pull out the toolbox. But we'll do it together. I've heard clients say that they felt previous therapists didn't like them. And I have also felt that way myself. One of my greatest strengths is that I already KNOW that I like you. As soon as you pop on my screen and start sharing, I feel instant fondness for you. Your courage, your vulnerability, and that spark of inspiration that brought your here. I don't have rigid beliefs. While I used to see this as a flaw, in recent times I have realized that it could be one of my greatest strengths, especially for a therapist. I am able to meet you where you are and hear your story from a true place of non-judgement and I believe that is such a gift for people today.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you are struggling with Anxiety, you've come to the right place. Many of my clients come to me feeling like they cannot control the worries and negative thoughts constantly racing through their mind. They feel overwhelmed, stressed, and exhausted. Not only does this impact their personal wellbeing, but it disrupts relationships and life goals. If you want to finally feel like you have control over your mind, body, and emotional wellbeing. If you want to experience a deep sense of peace and connection to Self, I can help.

My treatment methods

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I am trained in IFS and use it with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, internal conflict, and family conflict. We use experiential techniques for deeper understanding of and access to Self. Clients report IFS sessions to be "surprisingly enlightening" and impactful.
