First session

The patients should expect informed, comprehensive, evidence-based care that includes medication management, psychotherapy, lifestyle modifications, diet, and holistic approaches. My Sessions naturally aim to establish a trusting relationship where clients feel heard and validated. The goals and outcomes at the end of each session often align with the following: 1. Comprehensive Assessment: This assessment aims to understand the patient's mental health history, current symptoms, and overall well-being. My goal is to diagnose and formulate a personalized treatment plan accurately. 2. Psychoeducation: At the end of the session, patients will be educated on mental health disorders, coping strategies, and the treatment process. The outcome of psychoeducation is Empowerment and increasing understanding of mental health, assisting clients to be active participants in their treatment. 3. Goal Setting and Personal Growth: The provider and patient will collaboratively set realistic and measurable goals for their condition and overall well-being. The outcome is for the patient to achieve their personal goals, enhance self-esteem, and feel progress. My practice creates an environment that is typically nonjudgmental, compassionate, and client-centered. I ensure a safe space where clients can openly express their concerns. I strive to create an atmosphere of collaboration and trust, where clients feel supported throughout their journey toward improved mental health.

Strengths

Communication Trust is the bedrock of every relationship. I emphasize creating a trusting, unbiased, safe, and nonjudgmental space where you can openly discuss your concerns. Utilizing active listening and a collaborative approach, I aim to provide a personalized treatment plan to meet each individual's needs.

Ideal clients

I enjoy working with adults ages 18 to 64 with anxiety and depression, insomnia, PTSD, bipolar disorders to worry less, improve their mood, and engage more effectively in their relationships, work and hobbies through holistic treatment plans that include medication management, psychotherapy, functional laboratory testing and mind body approach, lifestyle modification, dietary and exercises. I provide culturally competent care to a diverse range of individuals, including people of color and those of the Christian Faith.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In addressing anxiety, my goal is to challenge and replace irrational or unhelpful thoughts by using Socratic questioning within Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This approach helps identify irrational thoughts and examine the evidence supporting those thoughts. Anxiety often involves catastrophic thinking, where individuals envision the worst possible outcomes in any situation. Through CBT, people learn to recognize these moments of negative thinking and are encouraged to consider alternative explanations. I teach patients to develop balanced and realistic thoughts, utilizing relaxation techniques such as deep breathing exercises and mindfulness practices to help manage physiological symptoms of anxiety. In addressing depression, I guide patients in understanding the nature of their condition and the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) model. My approach focuses on helping them re-engage in rewarding and meaningful activities. I utilize techniques such as identifying activities that patients once enjoyed or valued, scheduling small and manageable tasks to help break the cycle of inactivity, and tracking their mood before and after these activities to demonstrate improvement over time.

Supportive

Supportive treatment therapy for mental health patients encompasses various techniques and approaches designed to provide emotional, psychological, and practical support to individuals coping with mental health conditions. Some key aspects of supportive therapy that I incorporate into my practice include: I listen attentively, allowing patients to express their emotions and thoughts. This creates a supportive environment where they feel understood and validated. Empathy and Validation: I express empathy and acknowledge the patient’s struggles without downplaying them. This approach helps build trust and a sense of connection. Supportive therapy can help patients find practical solutions to everyday challenges, such as managing stress, establishing healthy routines, or navigating relationships. Encouraging self-care techniques is essential for wellness; I often suggest relaxation exercises, mindfulness practices, and engaging in activities that promote overall well-being. Psychoeducation involves educating patients about their mental health conditions, how these conditions affect their thoughts and behaviors, and the various effective management strategies available.
