I am a reproductive mental health therapist specializing in supporting individuals navigating reproductive trauma, fertility challenges, perinatal loss, and the transition through pregnancy and postpartum. I work with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, grief, and relationship challenges related to: -Fertility challenges and the complex emotions they bring -Perinatal loss -Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) journeys -Coping with and communicating about these experiences with family, friends, and co-workers -Decisions around starting a family and family planning -Birth or fertility-related trauma -Perinatal and postpartum stress, anxiety, OCD, and depression -Family-of-origin stressors or relational challenges My ideal clients are individuals seeking a compassionate, safe, and evidence-based space to process their experiences, explore their emotions, and develop coping strategies that promote resilience, healing, and lasting emotional well-being.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a widely used therapeutic approach that focuses on the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. When applied to reproductive mental health, CBT can be a valuable tool for helping individuals cope with the emotional challenges associated with reproductive issues, such as fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, or transitioning to the postpartum period.
The reproductive story is a therapeutic approach that involves exploring an individual or couple's experiences related to fertility, reproductive health, and the challenges they may face in trying to conceive. I utilize a narrative-focused approach to help my clients make sense of their journey, cope with emotional struggles, and navigate the complex emotions associated with fertility challenges.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a therapeutic approach that focuses on mindfulness, acceptance of thoughts and feelings, and commitment to values-based actions. When providing reproductive mental health support, I utilize ACT to tailor my approach to address the specific challenges and emotions associated with your reproductive issues.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an effective therapeutic approach for individuals experiencing reproductive trauma and birth trauma. This therapy helps process and alleviate the distressing memories associated with traumatic reproductive and childbirth experiences, such as complications during birth, loss, or fertility struggles. By targeting the emotional and psychological impact of these events, EMDR aids in reducing symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and depression, promoting healing and emotional well-being. Through structured eye movements or other bilateral stimulation, EMDR facilitates the reprocessing of traumatic memories, allowing individuals to integrate these experiences more adaptively and move forward with a sense of empowerment and resilience.
