New to Grow
Hello, my name is Malinda Grace M.S. LPC, NCC, PhD Student, a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor (NBCC) with over 25 years of experience supporting trauma-informed individuals in healing relational wounds and strengthening their sense of self. My clinical work has long focused on identity development, particularly for individuals navigating the lasting impact of relational trauma, disrupted attachment, and prolonged periods of self-doubt. I specialize in working with clients who are ready to understand themselves more clearly, take responsibility for their growth, and engage meaningfully in the work of change.
During your first session expect a conversational style assessment where I allow you to share whatever is most pressing for you. Expect to be heard and seen. You will be encouraged and informed. By the end of the session you can expect to feel relief and hopeful about your situation turning around. I am committed to your growth and am honored to be part of your healing journey.
One of my greatest strengths is that I am a creative thinker. Client's have said that they appreciate how I re-frame and empower them with my authentic and straightforward approach. I believe that knowledge is power so my goal is to give you all of the information I can so that you have the tools to change your life in between sessions. I have awesome attendance and am very dedicated to my clients.
Trauma-informed counseling doesn’t just use trauma-specific therapies. It integrates an understanding of trauma into every part of care by: prioritizing safety and trust, encouraging collaboration and choice and recognizing the impact of trauma on behavior and relationships. I specialize in developing unique self-care strategies that promote peace and calm for the overstimulated and overwhelmed mind. I offer a non-judgmental and compassionate space to support you with managing your life. You don't have to worry about me setting an agenda for your growth. You are the expert on you.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I use Person-Centered strength based therapy to assist you in identifying practical tools to improve emotional wellness. My sessions are client centered and client focused. I use active listening skills to identify and share alternative methods for solving your challenges. During treatment you will discover tools to improve your decision-making and improve your boundaries.
