I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Substance Abuse Specialist with over 25 years of experience providing psychotherapy services. I received my MSW from Barry University in Miami Shores, Fl. I hold national certifications in treating Trauma and Substance Use Disorders. My approach to therapy is highly individualized to meet the need of the individual. I specialize in helping people who are struggling with relationships, depression, anxiety, stress, family of origin issues, co-dependency, substance use and/or trauma. I primarily use Mindfulness, IFS, EMDR and CBT interventions. I believe therapy should be a safe place where a person can explore personal issues and find solutions that will last a lifetime.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
My hope is that a person comes away from a session being heard and understood. I do my best to offer a safe, nonjudgmental space, where one can explore issues or events that have led to uncomfortable or distressing thoughts and feelings.
The treatment methods and tools I utilize
I am trained in several different evidenced based therapies and hold national certifications in treatment of Trauma and Substance Use Disorders. My approach to therapy is based on a person’s individual needs. I have training in numerous interventions including Mindfulness, IFS, EMDR, ART, CBT and Psychodynamic Therapies
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My approach to therapy is based on the belief that people already have many of the answers within themselves; just waiting to be discovered. I believe it is important to build a collaborative relationship with clients to help them re-discover their forgotten strengths and resources. What I try to bring to each therapy session are therapy skills, emotional presence, curiosity, psycho-educational information, humor, clarity, and humility.
