New to Grow
I have spent my career supporting children and families and truly believe that those core relationships are essential to a happy, healthy life. We all have challenges that arise from those relationships, some of which have contributed to intense feelings which make it difficult to live the life we want. I am determined to help people to navigate through those challenges and develop the skills to grow into the person they want to be.
Therapy can be very intimidating. But I am here for you. I will take the time to understand what brought you to therapy and what you need out of therapy. I will learn who you are as a person so that I can best understand how to help you. This is a collaborative process, driven by you.
I don't want therapy to feel like therapy. I work hard to infuse different therapeutic techniques without making it feel formulaic. You are the author of your own story - I am just here to guide you along the way with the experience and tools that I bring to each session.
I work best with adults who are navigating through the myriad of life's challenges - including parenting, family conflict, relationships, depression/anxiety, overcoming traumatic experiences (acute or historical), and life transitions. I prefer individuals with a growth mindset, who are willing to do "homework", in order to maximize the benefit of therapy so they can move on successfully in their life as quickly as possible.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I have had extensive training in Solution Focused Brief Treatment, and have provided training to others in this modality. I do not exclusively use SFBT but rather infuse it into my practice alongside other modalities.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I am trained in CBT and utilize it alongside other modalities. I utilize tools such as Automatic Thought Record to help individuals process their thoughts and feelings.
Eclectic
Although I have particular strengths in my use of CBT and SFBT, I overall use an eclectic approach. I believe that everyone is unique, and there is no one size fits all approach to helping; therefore, it is critical that I use all of the tools in my toolbox.
