I’m a licensed therapist with advanced training and experience in a range of evidence-based and integrative approaches, including being EMDR Certified, trained in clinical hypnosis, CBT, and DBT, as well as Christian counseling and other faith-based counseling approaches. I specialize in helping clients work through trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and spiritual or faith-related concerns in a supportive and collaborative setting. My approach is practical, compassionate, and tailored to each person’s needs, focusing on both understanding your experiences and building tools that support meaningful change. I have extensive experience working with individuals navigating emotional pain, life transitions, and deeply rooted patterns that feel difficult to break. I also offer Christian counseling for clients who want to integrate their faith into the healing process. This can include exploring your relationship with God, addressing spiritual struggles, and incorporating Scripture and Christian principles when desired. Whether your goals are healing, clarity, emotional relief, or spiritual growth, I work alongside you to support both your mental health and your faith journey.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session with me, the focus is on getting to know you and understanding what brought you to therapy. This is a space where you can share at your own pace—there is no pressure to tell your whole story or go into more detail than you feel comfortable with. We’ll talk about what’s been going on recently, what challenges you’re facing, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. I’ll also ask some background questions to better understand your history, strengths, and any previous therapy experiences. Together, we’ll begin to identify goals and what you’d like to see change or improve. You can also expect me to explain how I work as a therapist, including the approaches I use such as EMDR, CBT, DBT, and clinical hypnosis when appropriate, as well as how faith-based or Christian counseling can be incorporated if that’s something you’re interested in. We’ll start to talk about what approach may best fit your needs, but nothing is set in stone—we adjust as we go based on what feels helpful for you. Most importantly, the first session is about creating a sense of safety and collaboration. My goal is for you to leave with a clearer sense of direction, an understanding of how therapy will work, and confidence that we are building a plan that fits your needs, values, and goals.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring a warm, collaborative, and practical approach to therapy that focuses on helping clients feel understood while also moving toward real, meaningful change. I aim to create a space where clients feel safe being honest about what they’re struggling with, without judgment, pressure, or pretense. One of my strengths is integrating multiple evidence-based and specialized approaches to fit each client’s unique needs. I am EMDR Certified and trained in CBT, DBT, and clinical hypnosis, which allows me to draw from a range of tools depending on what will be most effective for the person in front of me. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all method, I tailor treatment to address both immediate concerns and deeper patterns that may be contributing to ongoing distress. I also have extensive experience working with trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and spiritual or faith-related struggles. This allows me to hold space for both emotional pain and meaning-making, including for clients who want to integrate their Christian faith into therapy. What sets my approach apart is the balance of structure and flexibility: I help clients build concrete skills and coping tools while also working at a depth that supports long-term healing. Whether through EMDR processing, skills-based work in CBT or DBT, or reflective exploration of faith and values, I collaborate closely with clients to support growth that feels both grounded and personally meaningful.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve individuals who are seeking support for emotional, relational, and spiritual challenges and who want a practical, collaborative approach to therapy. Many of the clients I work with are navigating anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or struggles with self-esteem, identity, and emotional regulation. I also work well with clients who are feeling overwhelmed by their emotions, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or unsure how to move forward but are motivated to make meaningful change. Some clients come in wanting concrete coping tools and skills, while others are looking for deeper understanding of themselves and their experiences. In addition, I am especially well-suited for individuals who want to incorporate their Christian faith or spiritual beliefs into the counseling process. This may include clients experiencing spiritual struggles, questions about faith, religious hurt or trauma, or a desire to strengthen their relationship with God while also addressing mental health concerns. The clients who tend to benefit most from my approach are open to reflection, willing to engage in the therapeutic process, and interested in both understanding patterns and practicing new ways of coping. My work is collaborative and tailored, with a focus on helping clients build insight, develop practical skills, and move toward greater emotional, relational, and spiritual well-being.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my work with clients, I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) as a structured, step-by-step approach to help the brain process distressing experiences and reduce their impact on daily life. We begin by exploring your history, identifying treatment goals, and determining which experiences may be connected to your current concerns. Before processing any difficult memories, I help you develop coping skills and resources so that you feel prepared and supported throughout the process. Once you're ready, we identify specific memories, thoughts, emotions, and body sensations that we will focus on. Using bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, tapping, or sounds, I guide you through a process that helps the brain reprocess these experiences. As distress decreases, we work on strengthening healthier, more adaptive beliefs about yourself and your experiences. Throughout treatment, I pay attention to both emotional and physical responses, helping you notice shifts that occur as memories are processed. Each session ends with techniques to help you leave feeling grounded and supported, and we review progress regularly to determine next steps. I tailor the process to your individual needs and move at a pace that feels safe and manageable, with the goal of helping you feel less affected by past experiences and more confident in the present.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a practical, skills-based approach that I use to help clients manage overwhelming emotions, cope with stress, improve relationships, and navigate life's challenges more effectively. DBT is based on the idea that you can accept yourself as you are while also working toward meaningful change and personal growth. In therapy, I help clients better understand their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors, while learning new ways to respond to difficult situations. Rather than feeling controlled by emotions or reacting in ways that create additional stress, clients develop tools that help them feel more grounded, confident, and in control. Together, we focus on building skills in four key areas: Mindfulness: Learning how to stay present and aware in the moment instead of becoming overwhelmed by thoughts, emotions, or worries. Distress Tolerance: Developing healthy ways to cope with difficult situations and emotional pain without making the situation worse. Emotion Regulation: Understanding emotions and learning strategies to manage them more effectively. Interpersonal Effectiveness: Strengthening communication skills, setting healthy boundaries, and building more satisfying relationships. Throughout the therapy process, I work collaboratively with clients to identify patterns that may be keeping them stuck, practice new coping strategies, and apply these skills to everyday life. I tailor DBT to each client's unique needs and goals, providing a supportive, nonjudgmental space where they can build resilience, strengthen relationships, and create lasting positive change.

Christian Counseling

Christian counseling offers a space where emotional healing and spiritual growth are integrated through the truth and hope found in the Christian faith. For many clients, faith is a central part of life that brings comfort, direction, strength, and meaning. At the same time, life’s challenges can sometimes lead to seasons of doubt, spiritual struggle, hurt, or feeling distant from God. In therapy, I provide a supportive and respectful environment where both your emotional and spiritual experiences can be explored. Together, we can work through concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship challenges, life transitions, guilt, shame, identity questions, forgiveness, spiritual doubt, and experiences of religious pain or trauma. For clients who desire it, I integrate Christian faith into the counseling process through prayer, Scripture, and biblical principles, always in a way that aligns with your personal beliefs and comfort level. The goal is to support healing in a way that strengthens both emotional well-being and your relationship with God. I also recognize that faith journeys can include questions, struggles, and difficult experiences. These moments are not avoided in therapy but welcomed with care and understanding. You are free to be honest about where you are in your faith, whether you feel close to God, uncertain, or somewhere in between. My approach is collaborative and individualized. I do not impose beliefs, but rather walk alongside you as you explore your experiences, strengthen your faith if that is your goal, and work toward healing and growth. Whether you are seeking deeper spiritual connection, support during a difficult season, or help aligning your mental health with your Christian beliefs, I aim to provide a safe space where both faith and healing can grow together.

Faith based therapy

Faith can play a significant role in how people understand themselves, make decisions, cope with challenges, and find meaning in life. As a therapist with experience integrating faith into the counseling process, I provide a supportive space for clients who want their spiritual or religious beliefs to be an active part of their healing and personal growth. Throughout my work with individuals from diverse faith backgrounds, I have helped clients navigate a wide range of concerns, including spiritual struggles, religious doubt, questions about purpose and identity, grief and loss, forgiveness, relationship challenges, religious trauma, moral injury, and conflicts between personal experiences and faith beliefs. I understand that faith can be both a source of strength and a source of pain, and I approach these conversations with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. For clients who desire it, I can incorporate faith-based perspectives, spiritual practices, prayer, scripture, and religious values into the therapeutic process. Together, we explore how your beliefs can serve as a source of resilience, healing, hope, and guidance while addressing the emotional and relational challenges that bring you to therapy. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each individual. I do not impose my own beliefs or tell clients what they should believe. Instead, I help clients explore their experiences within the context of their faith tradition and personal values, supporting them as they work toward greater emotional well-being, spiritual growth, and a deeper sense of meaning and connection. Whether you are seeking support through a life transition, struggling with questions of faith, working through spiritual wounds, or looking to strengthen the connection between your beliefs and daily life, I strive to provide a space where both your mental health and your faith can be honored and explored.
