Hey my name is Elizabeth, Are you constantly feeling overwhelmed, having difficulty concentrating on tasks, and having sleep problems? Mental illness can affect every aspect of your life. I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who strives to meet every individual's unique physical and mental health, and wellness needs no matter what situation life brings to them. It is always a challenge for clients going through a divorce, losing a relative or job, having a terminal illness, adjusting to a new school or location, retiring, and taking care of elderly –ill parents. As a Practitioner, I consider it a privilege and trustworthy to provide services to clients looking to gain insight into their life and work on improving their quality of life. As a practitioner, I have learned to utilize a client-centered approach with shared decision-making to formulate individualized treatment goals better and optimize treatment adherence. My greatest motivation is helping clients achieve better outcomes in a centered and integrated approach. I offer services to clients from age 18 years to across the lifespan with ADHD, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, and Depression.
In practice, I utilize the state–of–the–art, evidence-based treatment method with a tailored approach of carefully paying attention to the client's life, unique experiences, cultural backgrounds, and strengths they have to provide individualized client-centered care. This type of approach leads clients to happier and more productive lives.
I utilize mind/body/ spiritual connection with psychotherapy, prescribing up-to-date psychotropics or alternative medicine that incorporates natural treatments like vitamins, supplements, healthy lifestyle modifications, nutrition, exercise, adequate sleep, and stress management. I embrace a holistic approach to identifying, understanding, and treating clients' challenges. I encourage clients to adopt new attitudes and feelings toward life situations. Some tools I utilize in screening clients are the PHQ-9, GAD-7, and various social determinants of health (SDOH) screening tools.
I have excellent communication skills in communicating with my clients. Communication with the patients is the key to understanding the client's needs, formulating their diagnosis, and treating them. It is crucial to understand our clients before we can treat them. I also have excellent listening skills, which establish trust, help the clients open up and disclose their thoughts and encourage them to share their emotions with me. These skills assist in gathering valuable information about the client to aid the treatment process.
