Strengths
I bring more than 23 years of healthcare and psychiatric nursing experience across a wide range of clinical settings, giving me a broad perspective on complex mental health needs. My strengths include strong clinical assessment, psychopharmacology, crisis management, trauma-informed care, addiction treatment, and recognition of medical and psychiatric comorbidities. I approach each patient with compassion, honesty, and respect while tailoring treatment to their individual needs, goals, and readiness for change. My military leadership experience has strengthened my accountability, communication, discipline, and ability to remain calm and decisive in challenging situations. Most importantly, I believe in building collaborative relationships with patients and helping them develop the insight, coping skills, and behavioral changes needed for meaningful and lasting improvement.
Ideal clients
I prefer clients prepared to take charge of their life, determined to improve their quality of life by gaining knowledge, awareness, and coping skills to handle life on life's terms. I want patients who understand there is not a magic pill to solve all of their issues, that they have to be willing to do the hard work of digging deep and resolving the issues.
Treatment methods
Motivational Interviewing
I incorporate motivational interviewing to help patients explore their goals, values, and readiness for change. Rather than telling patients what they should do, I work collaboratively with them to identify their own reasons for change, build confidence, overcome barriers, and develop realistic steps toward meaningful and lasting improvement.
