New to Grow
Welcome! I’m Margaret Kenney, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in Texas. I provide compassionate, client-centered counseling to help individuals navigate life’s challenges, manage stress and anxiety, strengthen relationships, and develop healthier coping strategies. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, empowered, and supported in making meaningful changes toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a foundation of trust. We’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, the challenges you’re experiencing, and what you hope to gain from our work together. You’ll have space to share your story at your own pace, ask questions, and express any concerns you may have about the process. Together, we’ll begin identifying your goals and exploring how therapy can best support your needs. There is no pressure to have all the answers or share everything at once. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and more hopeful about the journey ahead.
I bring empathy, authenticity, and a collaborative approach to every session. I strive to create a warm, judgment-free environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves and exploring difficult emotions. My approach combines active listening, practical strategies, and thoughtful questions to help clients gain insight, recognize patterns, and develop skills they can apply in everyday life. I recognize that every individual’s journey is unique, so I tailor my approach to each client’s needs, strengths, and goals. My priority is to help clients feel understood, empowered, and supported as they work toward meaningful, lasting change.
My ideal clients are individuals who are ready to better understand themselves, navigate life transitions, and develop healthier ways of managing stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, and emotional difficulties. I enjoy working with clients who may feel overwhelmed, stuck in familiar patterns, or disconnected from themselves and are looking for a supportive space to explore their experiences. You do not have to have everything figured out or know exactly where to begin. My goal is to meet you where you are, help you recognize your strengths, and work collaboratively with you to build confidence, improve emotional well-being, and create a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence one another. Together, we explore thought patterns that may contribute to stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, or feeling stuck. I help clients identify unhelpful thinking habits, develop healthier perspectives, and practice practical strategies they can use in everyday life. Our work is collaborative and focused on building skills that support emotional well-being, improve decision-making, and create lasting change. My goal is to help clients feel more confident in their ability to manage challenges and respond to life's difficulties in healthier ways.
