New to Grow
Hello! I am a licensed mental health counselor that has been actively practicing with a variety of ages and issues for the past 15 years. The bulk of my work has been with children, adolescents, and adults in individual, group, and couple's counseling work. I have done a large amount of extra training in trauma work, neurodivergence, attachment and relational issues. I blend several modalities in order to provide a person centered, strengths-based approach that best fits the individual client. I am a believer that the tools to heal are already inherently inside of all of us, and work to help you find your way to your stability, growth, and comfort.
In our first session, we will spend time getting to know each other and making a plan for our work together identifying your goals and struggles.
My wide experience with different ages of folks has made me particularly good at understanding and recognizing patterns of behaviors and helping folks to widen perspectives in dealing with their challenges. I offer tools and guidance without harsh judgement or trying to be the expert on your life, that is your job. I also have substantial experience in offering a safe space where you can process life's challenges and also find your way to a values driven life.
I have the most experience and love for working with kids and adolescents using a blend of play therapy, creative expression, ACT, and DBT. My most recent focus has been adults who have attachment issues and trauma histories utilizing a toolbox full of approaches to trauma work. I also do Emotion-focused therapy with couples, identifying the relationship as our client. I use mindfulness as a main tool of choice in all therapy types and situations, blending it with other modalities.
Other specialties
I identify as
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use ACT with both kids and adults sharing tools and perspective shifting as well as identifying client's values in order to work towards a life that feels fulfilling and inspiring.
Attachment-based
When working with complex trauma, I guide the client in exploring their attachment styles and navigating their ways to secure attachment.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use DBT skills and ideas as tools and blend with other appropriate modalities, this approach is especially helpful for folks (kids and adults) struggling with identity and personality concerns.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
This is the model I use for couple's work. This model is about identifying and understanding patterns and their impacts on the relationship as well as guiding the couple to understand and know each other more deeply.
Experiential Therapy
I use a blend of Internal Family Systems and Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment to help guide traumatized folks through their inner world conflicts and work toward integrating and feeling whole.
