I am a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to creating a compassionate, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore life's challenges. I believe that every individual has the capacity for healing, growth, and resilience, and I am honored to walk alongside my clients as they navigate their unique journeys. My therapeutic approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while integrating person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed practices. I work collaboratively with clients to identify unhelpful patterns, develop practical coping strategies, and build the confidence needed to create meaningful and lasting change. My goal is to empower clients with tools they can continue using long after therapy ends. I have experience supporting individuals facing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship concerns, family conflict, stress management, self-esteem challenges, and emotional regulation. I recognize that no two people experience life's struggles in the same way, which is why I tailor treatment to meet each client's unique needs, goals, and personal values. As an American Sign Language (ASL)-fluent therapist, I am passionate about providing accessible and culturally responsive mental health services to members of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities. I strive to ensure every client feels heard, respected, and understood throughout the therapeutic process. I believe that healing happens through authentic connection, self-discovery, and learning to approach ourselves with curiosity and compassion. Whether you are seeking support during a difficult season, working through unresolved experiences, or looking to strengthen your emotional well-being, I am committed to helping you build resilience, gain insight, and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life. Seeking therapy is a courageous first step, and I consider it a privilege to support clients as they work toward healing, personal growth, and lasting emotional wellness.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, we'll focus on getting to know one another and creating a comfortable space where you can share at your own pace. I'll ask questions about what brings you to therapy, your personal history, current concerns, and what you hope to achieve through counseling. This conversation helps me understand your unique experiences while giving you the opportunity to ask questions and determine whether we're a good fit. Together, we'll begin identifying your goals and discuss a treatment approach tailored to your needs. There is no pressure to share everything during the first session—therapy is a process, and we'll move at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for you. My goal is for you to leave our first meeting feeling heard, supported, and hopeful, with a clearer understanding of how we can work together toward meaningful change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are individuals who are ready to better understand themselves, navigate life's challenges, and create meaningful, lasting change. They may be experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship difficulties, family conflict, or feeling overwhelmed by the demands of daily life. Some come to therapy with a clear goal, while others simply know they want things to feel different. I enjoy working with clients who are open to self-reflection and willing to explore new perspectives, even if taking that first step feels uncertain. Therapy doesn't require having all the answers—just a willingness to begin. Whether you're seeking practical tools to manage stress, process difficult emotions, improve relationships, or build greater confidence, we'll work together to create goals that align with your values and needs. I also have a passion for supporting members of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community by providing therapy in American Sign Language (ASL), creating an accessible and affirming space where clients can communicate comfortably and authentically. If you're looking for a therapist who will meet you with compassion, honesty, and encouragement while helping you build practical skills for lasting growth, I would be honored to be part of your healing journey.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) because it is a practical, evidence-based approach that helps clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected. Often, the way we interpret situations influences how we feel and respond. By increasing awareness of these patterns, clients can begin replacing unhelpful thoughts and behaviors with healthier, more balanced ways of coping. I appreciate CBT because it doesn't just focus on understanding problems—it provides concrete tools and strategies that clients can use in their everyday lives. Together, we'll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, challenge beliefs that no longer serve you, and develop skills to better manage stress, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions. While CBT is the foundation of my practice, I recognize that every client's journey is unique. I tailor therapy to fit your individual needs, strengths, and goals, blending compassion, collaboration, and practical skill-building to help you create meaningful, lasting change. My goal is for you to leave therapy not only feeling supported, but also equipped with tools you can confidently use long after our work together.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) because it helps clients build a healthier relationship with their thoughts and emotions rather than feeling controlled by them. Instead of trying to eliminate difficult feelings, ACT teaches that emotional discomfort is a natural part of life and that we can learn to respond to it with greater awareness, flexibility, and self-compassion. ACT encourages clients to identify what matters most to them—their values—and take meaningful steps toward those values, even when fear, anxiety, grief, or self-doubt are present. This approach shifts the focus from simply reducing symptoms to creating a life that feels purposeful and fulfilling. I appreciate ACT because it combines mindfulness with practical strategies that help clients become less stuck in unhelpful thought patterns and more present in their daily lives. Together, we'll learn how to notice difficult thoughts without letting them define you, make room for challenging emotions without becoming overwhelmed by them, and commit to actions that align with the person you want to be.

Couples Counseling

In couples counseling, I believe healing begins with compassion, curiosity, and a willingness to understand one another's experiences. My role is not to determine who is right or wrong, but to help each partner feel heard, understood, and respected while creating a space where honest conversations can take place safely. I help couples recognize the patterns that keep them feeling disconnected and replace them with healthier ways of communicating and responding to one another. Together, we work to slow down conflict, increase empathy, and identify the underlying emotions and unmet needs that often fuel recurring disagreements. Repair is an essential part of every healthy relationship. I guide couples in learning how to take responsibility for their actions, rebuild trust, offer and receive meaningful apologies, and reconnect after conflict. Rather than expecting perfection, I encourage couples to develop the skills needed to navigate challenges with kindness, accountability, and emotional safety.

Strength-Based

A strengths-based approach focuses on recognizing and building upon the abilities, resilience, and personal qualities you already possess rather than concentrating solely on problems or diagnoses. I believe every person brings unique strengths, life experiences, and inner resources to the therapeutic process—even during difficult seasons when those strengths may be hard to recognize. In our work together, we'll identify what has helped you overcome challenges in the past, explore the values and qualities that make you who you are, and use those strengths as a foundation for growth and healing. Rather than viewing you through the lens of what's "wrong," I strive to help you recognize what's already working and how those strengths can support meaningful change.

Grief Therapy

Grief is one of the most personal and life-changing experiences we can face, and there is no "right" way to grieve. Whether you've experienced the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, a major life transition, loss of health, infertility, or another significant change, I provide a compassionate space where you can process your emotions without judgment or pressure. As a grief therapist, I believe healing is not about "moving on" or forgetting your loss. Instead, it's about learning how to carry your grief while rediscovering meaning, hope, and connection in your life. Together, we'll honor your unique experience, explore the impact of your loss, and develop healthy ways to cope with the emotions that accompany grief.
