New to Grow
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and School Counselor with over 10 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and couples. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, and life stressors. My approach is client-centered and collaborative, meaning I meet you where you are, respect your autonomy, and tailor strategies to fit your unique needs. I am committed to helping you gain insight, build coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
For the first session, clients can expect a warm and welcoming environment, focused on building trust. I learn about your background, concerns, and why you have come to therapy. I explain the counseling process and answer any questions. I move at the client's pace, ensuring that clients are heard and understood as we identify goals. I also explain limits to confidentiality.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
What stands out about my therapeutic approach is my ability to balance genuine empathy with intentional structure. I create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and respected, while also helping them move beyond simply talking about problems toward making meaningful, lasting changes. My work is rooted in a client-centered approach, which means I honor each client’s autonomy, perspective, and pace. At the same time, I integrate evidence-based strategies—such as CBT, emotional regulation skills, and relationship-focused interventions—based on each individual’s needs. This allows me to work effectively with a wide range of concerns, from trauma and mood disorders to relationship challenges and high-risk behaviors. What also sets me apart is my ability to connect with diverse populations across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, adults, and couples. I am especially intentional about creating a culturally responsive and affirming environment where clients feel understood without needing to explain their lived experiences. In terms of results, clients often report increased self-awareness, improved emotional control, healthier relationships, and greater confidence in decision-making. I work best with individuals who are ready to be open, honest, and engaged in the process, as I view therapy as a collaborative partnership focused on growth, accountability, and real-life application.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I specialize in supporting individuals and couples who feel overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or disconnected from themselves and others. My ideal clients are those navigating life’s most challenging transitions—whether it’s grief, relationship conflict, anxiety, or the weight of everyday stressors. Many of the clients I serve are high-functioning on the outside but internally struggling with irritability, loneliness, unresolved trauma, or difficulty managing their emotions. I am particularly passionate about working with Black and BIPOC individuals who are navigating systemic stressors, generational patterns, and cultural expectations. I provide a safe, affirming space where clients feel seen, understood, and empowered to break cycles that no longer serve them. My work is rooted in both compassion and accountability—I don’t just listen, I help clients take actionable steps toward change. Clients who work best with me are those who are ready to move beyond simply venting and are open to developing insight, practicing new skills, and doing meaningful work both in and outside of sessions. My goal is to help clients build healthier relationships, gain emotional clarity, and develop the confidence and tools needed to create lasting, transformative change in their lives.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
Each client is unique and each client's reason for seeking therapy is different. Using a person-centered approach, I will use skills such as CBT,DBT, or another to work with you individually. Your therapy may differ from someone with the same events.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help you as a client not to overthink and take control of your thoughts. CBT helps to make the irrational rationale.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
For clients who may be limited sessions due to costs or insurance, I will help find the most beneficial ways to maximize your therapy.
Supportive
We all as human beings go through the ebbs and flows of life. We experience challenges, and our response may be different or similar to our peers. Supportive therapy allows me to show and guide you with support as needed.
