New to Grow
We are creatures of habit. Sometimes certain habits or patterns of behavior that once served us well start to cause stagnation in one or more areas of our life. I work with individuals of all ages by providing a safe objective space to gain awareness, activate strengths, process emotions, and develop different patterns of thinking, behaving, and relating to help them interrupt those patterns and develop skills to make desired changes to achieve their maximum self. I utilize an integrative approach that allows individuals, couples, and/or families to customize their therapeutic process to suit their specific needs. Let’s work together to create new patterns or habits that shift stagnation into advancement. Life is for living and you deserve to live it well.
During our first session, clients can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where we will discuss what brings them to counseling and what they hope to gain from treatment. I will ask questions about their current concerns, personal history, relationships, strengths, and any factors that may be impacting their well-being in order to develop a comprehensive understanding of their needs. Together, we will begin identifying treatment goals and discuss how we can work collaboratively to support their growth and healing.
I bring warmth, authenticity, and a nonjudgmental presence to each session, creating a space where clients can feel safe to be open and honest about their experiences. I strive to balance compassion with practical guidance by helping clients gain insight into their patterns while also equipping them with evidence-based tools and strategies for change. I am committed to building a collaborative therapeutic relationship that honors each client's strengths, values, and unique path toward healing and personal growth.
My ideal clients are adults who are motivated to better understand themselves, heal from past experiences, and create meaningful change in their lives. I particularly enjoy working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related concerns, life transitions, and difficulties related to self-esteem, relationships, or identity. I value collaborating with clients who are open to self-exploration and willing to actively engage in the therapeutic process, while recognizing that growth occurs at each person's own pace.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and understand the connections between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we examine unhelpful thinking patterns and develop more balanced and adaptive ways of interpreting situations. CBT also involves practicing practical coping skills and behavioral strategies to reduce distress and improve daily functioning.
EMDR
I use EMDR as part of treatment to help clients process distressing experiences that may have become "stuck," contributing to ongoing emotional distress in the present. During EMDR, clients briefly focus on aspects of the upsetting memory while engaging in bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements, tapping, or alternating sounds), which supports the brain's natural ability to reprocess the experience. The goal is not to erase the memory, but to reduce its emotional intensity so clients can recall what happened without feeling overwhelmed by it.
Psychoeducation
I use psychoeducation to help clients better understand their mental health symptoms, diagnoses, and the factors that may be contributing to their current difficulties. Providing information about how thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and the nervous system interact can increase insight and reduce self-blame. Psychoeducation also empowers clients to make informed decisions about their treatment and apply effective coping strategies outside of sessions.
Strength-Based
I use a strength-based approach to help clients identify and build upon their existing abilities, values, resilience, and past successes. Together, we explore how these strengths can be utilized to navigate current challenges and support progress toward treatment goals. This approach fosters hope, self-efficacy, and a greater sense of empowerment throughout the therapeutic process.
Trauma Informed Care
I use a trauma-informed approach by recognizing the impact that past traumatic experiences can have on a client's thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and sense of safety. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that emphasizes trust, collaboration, choice, empowerment, and emotional and physical safety. Treatment is tailored to each client's unique experiences, with care taken to avoid re-traumatization while supporting healing and resilience.
