Do you want to feel centered and tap into healing? Do you want to find insight? I want you to too, and I am willing to walk with you on your journey. I am an energetic, empathetic and creative psychotherapy clinician with an extensive career in clinical social work. I’ve helped individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds. My colleagues describe me as knowledgeable, courageous, innovative and inspirational. I consistently demonstrate professional core values of integrity, compassion and continuous improvement. My career began working with substance use recovery, and end-of-life planning and care. I progressed into international social work, and I lived in Nicaragua and Venezuela. I specialized in trauma and familial sexual abuse. I settled in California and maintained a generalist clinical practice.
In our first session, I will want to know about you and what brings you into therapy at this moment in your life. I will want to know a brief history of your childhood family, school, work, family, and friends. I will look for your strengths as a person and develop how I may be able to help you.
I am trained in multiple treatment methods. To name a few: I utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) https://www.emdria.org/about-emdr-therapy/ CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). After I know what brought you in and your goals, together we can discuss what treatment methods and tools would be a best fit.
My passion is helping clients heal from trauma. I feel comfortable helping people who have problems with anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, and life's adjustments.
