New to Grow
Hi! My name is Natalie, I am a Registered Art Therapist (ATR) and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Massachusetts. My work centers around cultivating a comfortable space to allow reconnection with your inner self. I believe in a mind, body, and soul approach as they are all one. I currently work full time as a school adjustment counselor, helping children and adolescents navigate challenges like, self-esteem issues, emotional exploration, building coping skills, peer-conflict, and more. I have a diverse clinical background from previous work in private practice, school-based settings, outpatient/ inpatient settings, dementia units, and assisted living care. I work in supporting individuals with a wide range of mental health challenges including, Anxiety, Depression, Emotional Overwhelm, Grief, Relationships, PTSD, Life stages, Victimization, and navigating systems that can produce stress. As a team, we will focus on identifying negative thinking patterns or unhelpful behaviors, implementing healthy coping skills in reducing symptoms. Therapy is whatever you make of it.
First sessions can be a bit nerve wracking.. In our first session together, we will have the opportunity to get to know each other. We will discuss your needs, your concerns, and what brought you to therapy. I will always reassure you that I am following YOUR lead, and that I am a new face, so please share what you are comfortable with. We will go over some of your history, your background, and brainstorm on some goals you have in mind.
As a therapist, I bring a strength of compassion, comfort, warmth, and a non-judgmental approach. We will work together to build our therapeutic relationship through reflection, humor, and honesty. I hope to offer you support and strength as you grow!
I enjoy working with individuals that have an open mind to try new things, learn more about themselves, and find the ability to be creative in better supporting their minds, bodies, and souls. An individual who is also understanding in the idea that good things take time. Therapy is not a fix all/cure all. It takes patience, practice, pause, and persistence.
I have worked with clients struggling from various mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, and have helped them by learning a better understanding of how negative thinking patterns, and underlying core beliefs effect how they feel and what they do. We work together to identify and challenge these unhelpful thinking patterns to reduce symptoms and increase your overall well-being.
Strength-based therapy works from a place of seeing clients as resourceful and resilient when faced with adversity and life challenges. Together we will process your history of pain, trauma, or life stressors from a place of strength, resilience, and capability.
