Olaoluwapo Olaoye
Seeking help for your mental health is a courageous first step, and you don’t have to do it alone. I am Olaoluwapo (Ola) Olaoye, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing compassionate, evidence-based care for adolescents and adults across Florida through secure telehealth. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have been practicing as a PMHNP for the past year and bring over 11 years of nursing experience as a registered nurse. My diverse clinical background allows me to provide compassionate, evidence-based, and patient-centered mental health care that supports each individual's unique needs and goals. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, insomnia, women's mental health concerns, and life transitions. My collaborative, patient-centered approach combines medication management, supportive therapy, and education to help you better understand your mental health and achieve lasting wellness.
My background in acute care, geriatric nursing, and nursing across the lifespan allows me to bring a well-rounded and holistic perspective to care.
I believe every person deserves to feel heard, respected, and involved in their treatment decisions. Together, we will create a personalized treatment plan that fits your goals, lifestyle, and values. If requested, I am also happy to incorporate faith-based principles into treatment in a respectful and supportive way. My goal is to provide a safe, judgment-free space where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns and empowered to take meaningful steps toward improved mental health and a more fulfilling life.
First session
Your first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a treatment plan that meets your unique needs. We will discuss your current concerns, symptoms, medical and mental health history, medications, family history, lifestyle, and the goals you hope to achieve through treatment. I encourage you to ask questions and share your thoughts openly. Together, we will review treatment options, discuss whether medication may be helpful, and develop a plan that you feel comfortable with. My goal is for you to leave our first session feeling heard, supported, and hopeful, with a clear understanding of the next steps in your care. New patients are welcome, appointments are available within days.
Strengths
One of my greatest strengths is creating a space where you feel comfortable, respected, and genuinely heard. I believe that trust is the foundation of effective care, and I strive to build a strong therapeutic relationship through compassion, empathy, and open communication. My approach is collaborative and patient-centered, focusing on your unique needs, goals, and overall well-being. Together, we'll develop a personalized treatment plan that supports lasting growth, builds resilience, and helps you feel more confident in managing life's challenges.
Ideal clients
If you're feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, stress, mood changes, or major life transitions and are looking for a provider who will truly listen, I'm here to help. I work best with adults who are ready to better understand their mental health and take meaningful steps toward feeling better. Together, we'll create a personalized treatment plan in a supportive, compassionate, and judgment-free environment where you can build healthy coping skills, improve emotional well-being, and gain confidence in managing life's challenges.
Treatment methods
Humanistic
I use a humanistic, person-centered approach by creating a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where clients feel heard, respected, and understood. I believe each person brings unique strengths, experiences, and goals to treatment. By building a trusting therapeutic relationship and working collaboratively, I help clients gain insight, develop effective coping skills, and make meaningful progress toward improved mental health and overall well-being.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing is a collaborative, client-centered approach I use to help individuals explore and resolve ambivalence about change. Rather than directing or pressuring, I work alongside clients to better understand their goals, values, and what may be holding them back. Through open-ended questions, reflective listening, and supportive guidance, I help clients strengthen their own motivation and confidence to make meaningful changes.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. I work with clients to recognize how negative thinking can impact mood, anxiety, and daily functioning, and help them develop more balanced, realistic ways of thinking.
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
I help patients recognize coping skills, successes, and supports they already possess. Sessions center on “what better looks like” rather than detailed analysis of the problem itself. Patients define realistic, meaningful goals. I reinforce incremental progress and encourage behavioral steps that increase patient confidence and self-efficacy.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
I approach patients with curiosity, humility, and respect for differences in culture, religion, family structure, gender identity, sexual orientation, and health beliefs. I adapt communication style, language, and psychoeducation to match the patient’s level of understanding, preferred language, and cultural norms.
