Hi! My name is Tameer and I am a licensed clinical psychologist. My doctoral dissertation explored the relationship between employee burnout and trauma-informed care. My clinical focus consists of working with adults coping with post-traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties; family conflict, work burnout, adjustment to major life transitions; and integration of their marginalized identity(ies) (e.g., LGBTQ+; racial/ethnic minorities; SES disparities) with their whole person. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I consider all my clients to be more than just another name, or an appointment. Therapy can be a transformative healing experience, and I strive to treat it as such, with deep compassion, non-judgment, and empathic attunement. It’s my goal to offer practical resources that clients can put into practice immediately in their lives. I use both modern approaches and tried and true methods to fit each client’s individual needs. Everyone can achieve more personal growth and strength, and it’s an honor to work on that together.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

My Modalities include: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Psychoanalytic/Psychodynamic Therapy Internal Family Systems (IFS) Motivational Interviewing General Approach: Culturally Sensitive Attachment-based Strength-Based Trauma-Informed Integrative Solution Focused

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work well with adult individuals and adult couples committed to their growth and healing. The kind of people who are engaged, motivated and actively involved in the therapy experience. Typically, my clients are interested in increasing insight and self-awareness of their problems, exploring their psychosocial patterns, developing more adaptive coping strategies, and processing the cognitive and emotional aspects of their experiences while mindfully engaging in behaviors that align with their values and goals. These are usually the kind of people who are exhausted with suffering and recognize there must be a better way.
