I use a person-centered, trauma-informed approach that draws from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and other theories. With this approach, I can help you cope with anxiety, depression, and other issues - but most importantly, I'll work to create a safe, nonjudgemental space where you can feel deeply understood. Though my biggest interests are in relationship and attachment issues, complex trauma, personal meaning, and existential concerns, I'm enthusiastic to work with any and all clients! All identities welcome :)

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we'll complete the intake interview to get to know each other better, explore what's important for you to address, and set goals for treatment.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My biggest focus is on understanding the person I'm working with rather than "fixing" them, and on looking for the best in them!

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with clients who are navigating difficult relationships and attachment issues, disruptive life transitions, and questions of identity and meaning. My preferred client is introspective and motivated for self-understanding and change. I'm passionate about helping people uncover what truly matters to them, while reframing inhibitive thought patterns, coping with difficult emotions, and promoting meaningful action. All identities welcome!

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I like to include techniques from several different theories - anything that might help! But most importantly, I'll focus on creating a nonjudgemental, empathetic space in which you can be deeply understood.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I've been using ACT for several years. This approach helps you make connections between your thoughts, emotions, values, and actions; it helps you manage anxiety, depression, and other issues by practicing mindful acceptance and building a life that matches your values.

Existential

I find it important to be mindful of the four ultimate concerns (death, isolation, meaning of life, and freedom/choice), and how they impact us. Deep examination of these topics is always welcome and encouraged.

Trauma Informed Care

I've worked with many clients who deal with PTSD and complex trauma. I've attended several trainings, and engage in ongoing education on how trauma and adverse experiences can impact quality of life. I strive to understand how trauma effects you, and to be mindful of how it might show up in our sessions.
