First session
Our first visit is an opportunity to establish connection, understanding, and building a strong therapeutic alliance. I will ask questions to understand and address your unique mental health needs. We will work together to establish clear and achievable goals to promote lasting change.
Strengths
I have always wanted to help people on their worst days and believe mental health affects all aspects of who we are as humans. I know that there can be a lot of trauma and even shame sometimes when seeking mental health treatment and I am here to help. I look forward to working with you.
Ideal clients
My goal is to meet people where they are in life within a safe and nonjudgmental environment. I have found that I work well with patients of all ages and diagnoses through kindness, caring, and empathy. You matter and I adjust my communication style based on your unique needs. My aim is for each individual to be comfortable as we together on mental health needs.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps patients to identify negative thought patterns and replaces these thoughts with more realistic and positive ones. This process leads to improved behaviors and empowers individuals to manage mental health by actively changing thinking and actions.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) helps patients by identifying and changing negative thoughts and behaviors related to sleep, allowing development of healthier sleep habits and overcome the underlying causes of their insomnia. This helps to alleviate symptoms instead of only just relying on medication. This is the gold treatment and recommendation for insomnia treatment.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational interviewing (MI) helps patients by empowering identification of their own reasons for change and develop a personal motivation to make positive behavioral modification. This allows feeling more power in situations and commitment to health goals through a team approach with the healthcare provider.
Play Therapy
Play therapy helps patients, primarily children, by providing a safe space to express emotions and experiences. Big feelings can be difficult to communicate sometimes and this treatment helps patients work through difficult feelings, develop coping mechanisms, and improve their overall mental well-being through play instead of only words.
Supportive
Supportive therapy provides a safe and nonjudgmental environment to process feelings and build coping skills by managing immediate concerns and stressors rather than deep-seated issue. Goals include improving quality of life and self-esteem.
