Hello! My name is Charlene and I am an psychiatric nurse practitioner based in Florida. I received my Masters of Science and Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Florida Atlantic University, and I a newer practitioner. I specialize in helping adults of all ages take on the challenges of mental health issues and interpersonal relationships to become the best version of themselves. I know life can get crazy, and I am here to help you deal with those challenges.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, you can expect us to make our first introductions and to get to know each other. I have a laid-back, non-judgmental approach and I strive to make my patients feel as comfortable as possible. I will ask you questions about yourself, your life, and the present issues you are facing. From there, we will work together to develop a treatment plan that we will begin to implement at follow-up visits.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked mostly with young and middle aged adults, one of my strengths as a provider is my ability to listen. So often, clients tell me that they feel as though they aren't being heard and understood. I am skilled at identifying key concepts of a client's story that will be essential in the development of a realistic treatment plan that they can follow and measure their progress.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with adults, particularly young and middle aged, who may be struggling to navigate the world as an adult and all of the challenges that come with adulthood such as school, careers, relationships, friendships, and even death. I especially enjoy working with clients who are eager to be active in their own healing, are ready to put in the work, are patient, and are consistent.

My treatment methods

Psychoeducation

I have found that the single most important factor in engaging patients in their own care and providing them with the tools necessary to be empowered in making their own decisions is providing the proper psychoeducation. The more knowledgeable patients are on their mental illness, treatment options, and healthy lifestyle changes, the more likely they are to yield positive outcomes.
