About me

Hi, My name is Tara. I am a certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C), and a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) licensed in Georgia. I received my master's degree in nursing from South University in Savannah, Georgia. I received my PMHNP certification from Valdosta State University in 2021. My experience ranges from caring for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings ranging in age from adolescence to geriatrics.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During an initial evaluation patients can expect a brief introduction, and we will quickly move forward to discuss specific issues or challenges you may be facing. Lastly, we will establish a treatment plan tailored specific to your needs and goals (i.e. medications, therapy, follow up recommendations). **If you require a specific time slot that is not available (early/late) please message me and I will do my very best to accommodate your needs!!

My experience working with a vast array of ages, ethnicities, cultural diversities, over the last 9 years has brought me to a place where I feel I can provide the very best care for my patients.

Supportive therapy primarily focuses on providing emotional support, encouragement, and validation during difficult a patient's life circumstances or psychological challenges.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or (CBT) is based on the idea that how people think about situations can affect their feelings and behaviors. The goal of CBT is to help people identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts, learn self-help strategies, and change their behavior. CBT is often used in addition or in conjunction with medications.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is a structured, evidence-based therapeutic intervention that provides patients and their family/friends with information and support to help them understand and cope with stressors.
