Do you feel like you've lost HOPE?! Do you often feel like what's the point? Do you feel like you are just surviving? HOPE! HOPE; noun; 1 - A feeling or expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. 2 - A feeling of trust HOPE; Verb; Example: - I HOPE therapy helps me and I HOPE I learn the skills I need to move through this experience. I truly believe as a therapist that hope is the catalyst for change. Hope propels us to keep trying. When we feel stuck due to trauma holding us back, our thought distortions, or our self-sabotaging, HOPE still is present and propelling us to move forward. I am a firm believer that all mental health disorders' root cause is trauma. This has been widely researched and confirmed. My goal is for us to meet the goals you have for yourself. We will do this by identifying healthy coping skills, becoming aware of thought distortions we are experiencing, and be able to identify AND work through triggers. I believe in acknowledging generational curses. Trauma is passed down from generation to generation until a cycle breaker comes along who is willing to put in the hard work to heal themselves and prevent inflicting any more damage to themselves and the future generations to come. I can promise you this work is not easy, life is not easy, we have to pick our hard. Staying where you are is also, HARD. Your healing will be worth it! You are worth it! There is HOPE for a better future for yourself. My open environment will serve as a safe space for your to process and move through life's challenges. Let me work alongside you to offer an empathetic, genuine, empowering, and encouraging experience. LETS WORK!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will go over a few policies, move quickly to brief introductions, go over what you submitted on your intake form, discuss customized "homework" that will be starting in the upcoming weeks we work together based on the specific dynamics of your life each week. We will work together to create custom goals tailored to you. And we will continue to work together collaboratively the entire time we are within a therapeutic bond.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked with a lot of of complex dual diagnosis patients when I was working at the psychiatric hospital. I have worked with all ages and genders. I am looking forward to continuing my work and education as a trauma therapist. A few mental health disorders I am very familiar with are below: Adjustment Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Acute Stress, Psychosis, Grief, PTSD, Complex Trauma, Complex Grief, Substance Abuse, and Mood Adjustment Disorder. At this time I do not offer therapy for extreme psychosis, couples, and active suicidal clients with a plan. As I feel they truly would benefit from in person services. I have chosen this line of work and with that comes career long learning. I am willing to research and look into other diagnosis and other approaches. I am also able to admit if I am not able to help you and think you would benefit from a different therapist with more experience in a certain area. Truly, all I want for you is to find the support and resources you need. And if it is not with me, that is okay! As long as you keep trying.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I will incorporate this therapeutic modality to help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave. We will aim to identify your core beliefs about yourself, your thought distortions, and limiting beliefs. We will work diligently to become aware of them and also how to become friends with them so we can truly heal and then transform to our new reality of life.

EMDR

EMDR is a structured therapy that will encourage you, as the patient, to briefly focus on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories. We will work together to build a very strong therapeutic bond with an absorbent amount of education around EMDR before we would start. The goal is for my clients to feel empowered when entering into the realm of EMDR. As a clinician that has both done EMDR herself, and now is trained and working towards certification, my goal is you feel comfortable, secure, and safe in my environment while working through deep rooted traumatic events.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

With this approach clinician will help you achieve a balanced mental state without being judgmental of self or others. Mindfulness therapy is used for the management of anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression associated with medical illness, low mood, unhappiness, depression-relapse prevention, and treatment-resistant depression.

Compassion Focused

This is a therapeutic approach that aims to help those who struggle with shame and self-criticism, often resulting from early experiences of abuse or neglect. We will work together to create a safe empathetic environment so we can truly process our deep rooted insecurities and shame.
