Hello! You should feel proud that you have made it to this point, looking for a therapist and exploring the steps to feeling empowered and content. I thank you for considering me to be a part of your self exploration, and I would be delighted to work with you. Through my years of study and practice I am able to offer a unique viewpoint and understanding. I use my strong background to work with each client in a holistic context. Together we can examine how you exist in the world around you and how to best help you feel confident and successful in your life. I am here for the rough patches, the "I just need someone to talk to" times, and the navigating of traumas both old and new. I can help you develop new skills, hone coping strategies, manage feelings and stress, and support you in moving forward into a healthier, happier place in your life.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

A first session can feeling overwhelming. Not to worry! In the first session we would spend time building a connection and exploring what would be most helpful for you. My goal is to create a judgement-free environment. I want our sessions to be a safe space where you feel empowered to share freely. I use direct communication and work to express myself clearly, and ensuring I understand what my client's are expressing. I conduct check ins to facilitate clear understanding of strategies and tools we discuss/learn during our time together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my strengths in working with neurodiverse individuals. I work to stay up to date on effective treatment models and increase my understanding of how to be an efficient and helpful therapist. I have extensive experience supporting Autistic clients, those with ADHD, bipolar, borderline personality, as well as those struggling with anxiety and depression. I also have a strong background in trauma assessment and treatment.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Neurodiverse populations are my forte, including ADHD, autism, anxiety, and individuals struggling with connections. I have worked with clients of a wide range of genders, cognitive abilities, nationalities, and religions. New parents and parents navigating their children's diagnoses/struggles are a focus as well.

Originally it was her introduction that made me choose Dr. Alicia Brengman, but after many wonderful sessions she’s proven such warmth, grace, and kindness. I went through multiple providers to find her and I almost gave up on therapy completely. It’s been almost two years with her and grow. I’ve seen such real improvement in myself. She’s been nothing short of amazing and fun. She’s welcomed me with open arms. I can’t thank Dr. Brengman and grow enough.
