New to Grow
I've dedicated my career to helping people understand themselves more deeply, heal from difficult experiences, and create meaningful change in their lives. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected from themselves, often after spending years trying to simply push through or “fix” what they're experiencing. Together, we'll slow down and explore your inner world with curiosity and without judgment, so you can better understand yourself, reconnect with what you need, and move through life with greater clarity, peace, and intention.
Our first session is about getting to know you and understanding what brought you to therapy. Together, we'll begin identifying what you'd like to work toward and explore what may be contributing to how you're feeling or what's keeping you stuck. You'll leave with a clearer sense of what we can work on together and a direction for moving forward—all at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
I believe therapy is about more than learning how to cope—it’s about understanding yourself deeply enough to create lasting change. My approach is warm, straightforward, and collaborative. I’ll meet you with curiosity and without judgment, while also being honest and direct when it can help you move forward. I believe your cultural background and lived experience are essential to understanding you as a whole person, so they’ll always be part of our work together. As a team, we’ll process difficult experiences, explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself so you can move through life with greater clarity and intention.
I work best with clients who are ready to be active participants in their own growth. You don't have to have everything figured out, and you certainly don't have to know exactly what you need from therapy. What matters most is a willingness to be curious, honest, and engaged in the process. I believe meaningful change comes from the work we do together—you bring your experiences, goals, and willingness to explore, and I bring my clinical knowledge, perspective, and support. Therapy isn't about a therapist “fixing” you; it's about working together to help you better understand yourself and create the changes you're looking for.
While psychodynamic therapy is not the only approach I use, it serves as a foundation for much of my work. Psychodynamic therapy explores how past experiences can shape your current thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships. Together, we'll look beneath the surface of what you're experiencing to better understand the patterns, beliefs, and emotional responses that may be influencing your life today. The goal isn't simply to revisit the past, but to develop greater self-awareness so you can make more intentional choices in the present. I believe therapy should be tailored to you rather than following a one-size-fits-all formula, so we'll draw from different approaches to support the work we're doing together.
Motivational Interviewing is a goal-oriented, person-centered approach designed to support people who may feel “on the fence” about making a change. Rather than telling you what you should do, we'll explore what matters most to you, identify what may be holding you back, and work through any ambivalence you may have. My role is to help you connect with your own reasons for change and build confidence in your ability to move forward.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents who have experienced trauma. It helps young people understand how traumatic experiences can affect their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships, while developing healthy coping and emotional regulation skills. In my work, I use TF-CBT to help clients process their experiences in a safe, supportive, and developmentally appropriate way while building a greater sense of safety, confidence, and control.
Mindfulness-based therapy incorporates practices such as body scanning, breathwork, meditation, and other techniques that promote greater mind-body awareness. I use these practices to help clients slow down, become more attuned to their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations, and develop a greater sense of presence. These skills can be especially helpful for managing stress and difficult emotions while building a deeper connection with yourself.
