My passion is supporting clients in moving beyond merely surviving, towards freedom and joy, in order to truly LIVE. My practice centers around working with people of color, marginalized communities, and allies to find healing and growth from depression, trauma, racism-based stress, anxiety, and burnout. I bring an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and social justice lens to my work. I have spent my career helping young adults feel safe, empowered, seen, and understood. My approach is client-centered, strength-based, supportive, direct, and with a touch of humor. My therapeutic methods often involve using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Art Therapy, Solution- Focus and Motivational Interviewing. In my in-person therapy sessions, in addition to talk therapy, I use art and creativity, because I believe during sessions the atmosphere doesn’t always have to be heavy and sad, it can also be filled with creative expressions. Together, we will work on helping you identify your stressors, develop effective coping skills, adapt, and feel empowered to handle all the challenges that life inevitably presents. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My goal is to make sure clients can achieve their goals in a safe and comfortable therapy environment without judgment. During our first session, we will go over the consent forms and policies to ensure that we have reviewed details, such as confidentiality, privacy, and attendance expectations. We will spend time getting to know each other and making sure I am a good fit for your therapy needs. We will review the reason for your request for therapy and your history of mental health concerns, family dynamics, medication history, and your goals for therapy. I can also answer your questions and explain what you should expect from therapy. Together, we will begin to identify your goals, develop a plan, and discuss how we will know you have met these goals. Please be sure to complete all your electronic intake paperwork before your first session, in order for us to dive right in and maximize our sessions.

My biggest strengths include working with those who struggle with: *Marriage, intimate, family, or friend relationship stressors or conflicts. *Everyday life stressors such as work, financial, and health-related. *Difficult life transitions and adjustments, such as job changes, divorce, deaths, moves, etc. *Depression, trauma, racism-based stress, anxiety, and burnout.
