About me

Greetings and Salutations! My name is DeShawn Artis and I am a LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) in the state of GA. I have been working with persons seeking mental health care for well over a decade! I am currently finishing up my doctorate in psychology. I enjoy working with persons who desire to make positive changes in their lives. Working to help clients manage frustration and analyzing thoughts and behaviors is one of the ways I work with clients to help ease suffering and promote healthy emotional and behavioral health.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session we we gather as much pertinent information as we can, such as childhood, family, career histories. In addition we will work to collaboratively create a treatment plan to address presenting issues. We will delve into why the problem is a problem now, ways in which the problem has persisted and ways you've attempted to manage.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength as a provider is to actively listen and intituvely question content and context that my clients present with. I think this skill allows the two of us to better focus our attention to not only seek problem resolution, but often clients identify various resilience and strengths that they have taken for granted.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with people who desire to deepen their level of insight towards themselves and others. My clients desire positive changes for not only themselves but for those they care about. My clients are those who wish to make individual changes, but also couples looking to increase communication and families looking to increase family cohesion and to minimize conflict.
