My name is Carrie Fuller, and I am a dedicated clinical social worker and licensed counselor I greatly appreciate and have enjoyed the years that I have spent offering counseling to a diversity of clients and I hope to continue in this practice fulfilling the needs of those who seek out to make their world and their life much better I have a wonderful sense of humor and I employ this in my practice routinely

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I know that sometimes it's not easy meeting a new person or even starting over with a different therapist if you've already had the experience of counseling in the first session I would hope that you would feel comfortable with me and ask questions that have been in your mind. I would hope that you would come with honesty and recognizing that my approach may seem a bit unique, but my overall purpose always is to make sure that you are seen, heard, and your perspective is appreciated and respected. I only want to do my best, and I enjoy open and honest feedback from my clients

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I always want to come with a fresh perspective when I meet with clients and continue to help them in the therapy experience. I am open and sincere in what I do, and I'm only hoping for the best outcome always. I've also learned in my practice not to take myself too seriously and understand that I can't work harder than my client because the outcome eventually is gonna be left up to them, but I will be the superhero for anyone willing to take the journey

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who comes with a willingness to learn something that they didn't know the day prior I hope that they have a readiness to engage with me and to trust me as a therapy partner. I hope that they also recognize and appreciate a good sense of humor as a part of the therapy and healing process I also hope that they would have a willingness to realize that therapy comes with their need to be open and direct and to also give real feedback if something that I am providing in the session just doesn't seem like it's realistic for them Honesty is always the best policy and it lets me know if my client is going to enjoy the skills that I'm giving and utilize them in their day to day when we are not meeting together. This client can be anyone who is just willing to start the process and trust that in the end they will come out better on the other side living their best life

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is one of the most recognizable treatment methods in therapy. As a counselor, I have found it to be very manageable and realistic as a way for my clients to understand how their underlying thoughts typically lead to certain actions and behaviors, and then, of course, how this then leads to consequences. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is easy to implement and use. I find that most people find it makes common sense when it is applied in my practice. I like to be personal and using a method that is effective and consistent is the key to client success which is my ultimate goal

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

For several years, I have engaged in DBT therapy with many of my clients who are seeking more immediate relief from mood dysregulation, trauma, and internalized pain. I find that DBT is straightforward and uses a way of not necessarily looking back on the past or predicting future outcomes, but simply remaining mindful of what is happening in the here and now. Often, my clients feel more at ease with exploring DBT skills and techniques. It also utilizes a lot of metaphors and is easy reading material when therapy sessions are not happening and the client can utilize the skills in their real Day to day struggles to manage
