New to Grow
Hi, I'm Ashley! I have been in the field for almost 2 decades, wow how time flies! I have had the pleasure of working with a variety of different populations over the years, which I believe has enabled me to value honesty, accepting others as they are and being able to offer a safe space for clients to deal with life's stressors. My approach to therapy is strengths-based. I want to work together to identify strategies and supports that will build on your foundation and support your mental health journey.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The first session we meet will be an intake session where I get to know you and what brings you to therapy. I get more of a history on symptoms, triggers and interpersonal relationships, which helps me to diagnostically approach therapy and come up with a realistic treatment plan. From there we will schedule your therapy sessions.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I value the importance of creating a therapeutic alliance with my clients by bringing compassion and understanding to each session and offering a non-judgmental environment for you to feel comfortable in.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I enjoy working with a variety of clients from ages 9 to 60. I have specific training and work experience with addictions and recovery, domestic violence, adolescence, offender populations and have worked with clients from a multitude of backgrounds. I value that each of us are in different phases of our lives and try to come to session with empathy, understanding and guidance on how to help better your journey into a healthier state of mind.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is a go to in my practice and helps you to challenge thought patterns related to your mental health. Helping to be able to recognize how your thoughts, feelings and behaviors are connected can aid in changing your everyday outcomes.
Motivational Interviewing
MI is a collaborative, person-centered communication approach designed to strengthen your motivation and commitment to change. It can help you explore and resolve ambivalence about behavior change in a non-judgmental, empathetic atmosphere.
