Hello! Reaching out to begin this process can be a daunting task. So, I’m glad you’re here. Most enter into therapy feeling stressed, overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, and/or not good enough. It is painful and frustrating to not feel in control of your emotions. Negative thoughts make it hard to feel good about yourself, your relationships, and your outlook on life. Imagine what you would be doing instead if you could truly heal and manage your emotions more effectively. We will work together to rewrite the narratives read by your internal voice and reframe your thinking. Together, we will develop tools and resources that are needed to strengthen your mindset daily, allowing you to increase overall confidence and trust in yourself.
In our first session, we will focus on building a connection, allowing me to grasp the challenges you're facing and why you've chosen to seek therapy. By hearing your personal story, I can pinpoint key themes and identify which pathways we can explore together to foster your healing journey. This collaborative approach will set the foundation for meaningful progress.
I focus on more than just talking through your challenges. I provide a compassionate, warm, but direct approach designed to help you heal from the inside out. Using evidence-based methods like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), I guide you past traditional talk therapy to help you understand the deeper parts of yourself, heal emotional wounds, and transform negative thought patterns. When my clients shift their thinking to a more adaptive perspective, they often discover the answers they needed were within them all along, even if trusting those answers was difficult. Together, we’ll work to uncover and process underlying trauma and internal conflicts so that you can feel more at peace with who you are, more connected to others, and more confident in navigating life’s challenges. My goal is to help you reclaim your sense of self, inner strength, and emotional well-being.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a type of therapy that helps clients process and heal from traumatic memories. It involves the person recalling distressing events while engaging in bilateral stimulation, typically in the form of guided eye movements. This stimulation is believed to help the brain reprocess the memories, reducing their emotional charge and allowing the person to integrate them in a healthier way. EMDR is often used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), but it can be effective for symptoms including anxiety, depression, panic, obsessive thinking, grief, addiction, and more.
Attachment-Based Therapy focuses on the idea that early caregiving experiences shape our ability to form healthy emotional bonds later in life. If a child’s needs for safety, love, and emotional connection are not met consistently, it can result in maladaptive attachment styles, which can manifest in issues like anxiety, depression, difficulties with relationships, or problems managing emotions.
IFS is based on the idea that everyone has different parts inside of them, each with its own role, beliefs, and feelings. These parts often conflict with one another, but with the guidance of the Self, they can be healed and integrated. The model encourages self-compassion and aims to bring harmony to the internal family of parts, leading to greater emotional well-being.
