New to Grow
Licensed in CA as an LMFT and in FL as an LMFT tele-health provider. I am EMDR and Gottman Level 1 trained and have experience working with adolescents, parents, couples and individuals. Therapy is a place to slow down and become aware of what’s happening beneath the surface so meaningful change can begin. It's a brave step toward improving your life and relationships. With greater self-understanding comes the opportunity for deeper connection, increased emotional balance, and peace. If you are like a lot of people who come to therapy, you might be feeling stuck or find yourself repeating painful relationship patterns, carrying the impact of past experiences they’re ready to heal, or feeling overwhelmed and stressed by life’s challenges. If you identify with any of those issues and wish to break free from patterns that no longer serve you, gain a deeper self-understanding, or improve your coping and relationship skills to create a more fulfilling life, I welcome you to reach out. Feel free to make an appointment or request a consultation first.
The first most important step in therapy is establishing trust and comfort so you feel safe sharing personal details of your life. You'll find I'm warm, open, nonjudgemental, compassionate, patient, understanding and accepting. I believe that the success of therapy depends on 3 main components including the strength of the therapeutic relationship, the therapist skills and the client's willingness to do the work. As for the technical part of starting therapy, we’ll also review your intake information and discuss your concerns and goals. Finally, we’ll collaborate to establish a personalized treatment plan with clear, achievable goals tailored to your needs.
I am genuine, curious, warm and accepting and have a lot of life experience that grounds me in the complexity of life. I'm not afraid of the messiness and am very open, non-judgmental and patient. We can go at your pace as you feel comfortable opening up. But once trust in our relationship is established, I'll gently challenge you to help facilitate the growth process. I use an eclectic approach to therapy based on a client's needs and goals. I use CBT for teaching coping strategies to manage unhelpful thought patterns that often increase distress I also have specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for treating trauma symptoms that often keep people stuck. I'm also trained in the research based Gottman Method for couples therapy as well as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which is an attachment-based approach. These methods help partners strengthen connection and communication and address the root causes of distress.
I specialize in working with couples who feel stuck in patterns of communication that are creating distance and impacting their relationship fulfillment. I also enjoy helping young people explore their goals, identity and relationships while navigating key life transitions around education, family and career. Lastly, I also specialize working with women who struggle with complicated emotions around co-dependency and surviving narcissistic abuse, as well as the complex emotions and stress often experienced by single mothers and empty nesters.
