Seeking help can sometimes seem like a scary or daunting task, but taking that first step to reach for healing takes a great deal of strength and courage. As a therapist, it is my goal to support and encourage you as you go through your healing process. My focus is on helping you cultivate your inner courage and strength as you work towards your goals. I feel that clients can have the best opportunity for long-term healing when they are allowed to make choices for their future. I am experienced in working with adolescents and adults with issues surrounding stress, life transitions, trauma, depression and anxiety. Life can feel overwhelming and stressful at times, but with the right outlook, it can also be wonderful, beautiful and filled with light. Our first session is more about getting to know each other helping you have a better understanding of how therapy will work and letting me know what specifically you're wanting to talk about.
I primarily work from an eclectic approach meaning that I draw from several modalities, depending on my client. That can be up to and including CBT, narrative therapy, reality/choice therapy, existential therapies, as well as Christian Counseling if and only if that is what my clients ask for.
I have the most experience with Trauma and the effects of that such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD. I do believe that trauma can rewire our thinking and through talk therapy and other treatment methods if needed we can rewire our thoughts feelings and behaviors.
