I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of therapy and life coaching experience. I obtained my bachelor's and master's degrees from Howard University in 2015 and have been passionate about serving people and families in need. Primarily working with BIPOC (black, indigenous, and persons of color) adults, I specialize in helping people who feel stuck in one area of life or another. Sometimes, all we need is a good sounding board and a fresh perspective to help break through to a much more peaceful place. If you struggle with anxiety, are having a difficult time navigating a tough season or transition, have family issues, relationships issues, don't understand yourself or your thoughts, need help processing or anticipating a loss, or are just having a hard time in general, you're not alone. I've been there and by dealing with my own struggles, I've learned a lot about how to help others deal with theirs.

First session

In our first session, my goal is to hear your story and allow you the space to tell it in a way that is meaningful and authentic to you. We'll discuss therapy goals and talk about some ways that we can work towards your overall wellness together.

Strengths

Therapy is not "one size fits all". In my work with clients, I pride myself on taking the time to understand their story and experience from their perspective. I understand that while people may struggle with similar issues, they show up differently for each person. I have the most experience working with ethnic minorities dealing with anxiety, relationship issues, family conflict, life transitions, self compassion, and self care.

Ideal clients

I primarily work with African American clients, millennials, ethnic minorities, Christian identifying

Treatment methods

Compassion-Focused

While I draw from multiple modalities, I find that a compassionate approach is one that remains non-judgemental and promotes forgiveness of self.
