Well done! You have taken a big step on your path towards healing. Whether you are experiencing challenges in a personal relationship or feeling the weight of your circumstances, I am eager to come alongside you. My desire is to help you overcome feelings of stress, worry, depression, and anger. I equip every client with the necessary tools to thrive in their relationships, in their emotions, and in their life! I’ve helped people find their path toward healing and growth. As we step forward together, I believe that the quality of your life will never be the same. Not only was I a Clinical Supervisor… my marriage has been instrumental in the evidence-based interventions that I practice. I offer individual counseling for anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief and loss issues, work stress, anger, interpersonal issues, parenting skills, and relationship issues. I immigrated to the United States and achieved the American dream of an education that enabled me to work with immigrants, refuges, adjustment, and acculturation issues. I’m bilingual in Arabic. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, you can expect to discuss the presenting problem(s), backgrounds, and possible causes. It can be difficult sometimes, I know! Together, we will develop your treatment plan with realistic goals and therapeutic objectives. We will work together to achieve your goals and observe possible outcomes of treatment. When you have accomplished your therapy goals, you will be ready to graduate with opportunities for a smooth transition.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is my primary theoretical approach. Together, we will identify what is troubling you. The CBT process will make you aware of your thoughts, emotions, and beliefs about yourself and your problems. We will identify negative thinking or poor perspectives, and then discover how to reshape them! Research shows that CBT can physically change the chemistry of the brain. Cognitive behavioral therapy techniques are able to restructure the brain by creating new neural pathways via neutral thinking. For example, the brain affected by depression and anxiety will typically stop reinforcing negative thoughts causing the intense feelings.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My clients describe me as patient, non-judgmental, and observant. I'm a caring listener who earns clients' trust to facilitate their growth and healing. I myself am an immigrant who speaks Arabic and has compassion for immigrants and refugees. I have great experience in working with grief, loss, and trauma that is caused by the immigration process. I worked with adjustment disorders and acculturation issues to bring about successful outcomes. I am a seminary graduate. Upon your request, I am able to modify your treatment plan to apply Christian counseling approaches by integrating psychology, theology, and spirituality. I have worked with Christian clients who were struggling with their faith and wrestling with the big question, "Where is God when it hurts?"
