I'm here to sit with you and to witness your lived-in experience. I believe that who you are is a culmination of having survived the pains of life and a result of how you learned to get love. I help you notice the deepest parts of yourself so that you can become your most authentic self. I will push you to lean into your humanity to integrate the unacknowledged parts of yourself. I aim to provide a balance of safety and challenge and in doing so, I hope to help you understand how much you gain by being more of who you are. I help you to see yourself more clearly so that you can develop self-compassion and self-love. Although I am a therapist and have learned the many techniques of this field, my main stance is to relate to you as a fellow human being. As the famous psychologist Carl Rogers stated, “When a person realizes he has been deeply heard, his eyes moisten. I think in some real sense he is weeping for joy." I hope to give you this gift.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I know the first session can be a little awkward so I hope to make it as easy and comfortable for you. I use the first session to get a background of who you are and what you're needing from the therapeutic relationship. I look at each client as a unique individual and want you to feel like you are deeply heard.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strengths include helping those struggling with depression, anxiety, unresolved childhood trauma/abuse, and maintaining sobriety from substance use. I enjoy working with those who have codependent behaviors and people-pleasing tendencies to see that advocating for yourself is the greatest form of self-love you could have.

My treatment methods

Gestalt

I work from a Gestalt approach which is a process-oriented perspective that aims to restore and recover the parts of ourselves that were detached due to lack of acceptance of our authentic selves in the environments and contexts that are and have been a part of.
