Hi, I'm Monique, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) offering a compassionate and patient-centered approach to mental health care.
With a strong foundation in both medical and psychiatric treatment, I specialize in the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of anxiety disorders, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). I combine evidence-based treatment, therapeutic techniques, and lifestyle guidance to help you gain meaningful and lasting improvement in your mental health.
First session
In our first session, I will ask questions about your current concerns, symptoms, and goals for seeking care. We’ll also review your medical history, psychiatric history, family history, medications, and lifestyle factors. This first meeting is mostly about gathering information, so I can understand the “big picture” of your mental health. I will also use standardized tools to help us measure symptoms and guide treatment planning.
Strengths
I believe that healing comes from treating the whole person, mind, body, and environment, while building a collaborative partnership with each client. I also highlight each client’s resilience and existing coping skills to support empowerment and self-growth. Some of my therapeutic approaches involve Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help my clients recognize and reframe unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, and Motivational Interviewing to enhance motivation and readiness for change. My goal is to provide treatment that not only reduces symptoms but also helps patients improve their daily functioning, relationships, and overall quality of life.

Treatment methods
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
During our sessions I use a solution-focused approach, which means we’ll concentrate more on what’s working in your life rather than just what's wrong. We'll identify your strengths and build on the times you’ve already succeeded, even in small ways. Instead of focusing too much on the problem, we’ll look at what change would look like for you and set realistic, meaningful goals. I’ll help you notice what’s already going well and explore steps to create more of those positive moments.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I also use behavioral therapy to help you understand how your actions affect your mood and mental health. We’ll focus on identifying unhelpful behaviors and work on practical strategies to change them. Behavioral therapy is about taking small, manageable steps toward healthier habits. I am here to support you in making positive behavior changes that can improve how you feel day-to-day. By tracking patterns and practicing new responses, you can gain more control over your symptoms.
