Hi, my name is Pamela. Are you pregnant, parenting an infant, toddler, or teen? Welcome, this is perhaps the most exhilarating and challenging time in an individual's life. Transitions are difficult and let's face it, life is messy! I have a deep respect and appreciation for the innumerable challenges associated with navigating one’s developmental, social-emotional journey. I strive to empower you by celebrating your strengths and working collaboratively with you on your identified obstacles and goals. My experience as an Infant Development Specialist, Infant-Parent Mental Health Specialist, Lactation Specialist, Parent Educator, and School-Based Therapist informs my practice and enables me to offer a unique and broad perspective. I hope that our time together will be comprised of discovery, learning practical tools and coping skills as well as challenging negative, unhelpful thought patterns. In our sessions together I will provide a safe space for you filled with compassion and humor, to explore, grow and heal. I look forward to working with you soon.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have extensive knowledge and experience in infant-parent mental health. Fostering healthy relationships between parents and their children is an area I can provide great knowledge and invaluable tools and insight. In the past, I have also worked as a School-Based Therapist at a local high school, where I had the honor of working with some amazing adolescents. I am honored to say I have learned so much while working with this unique population.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

What we THINK affects how we FEEL, how we FEEL affects our BEHAVIOR and the choices we make. Additionally, it influences the stories we tell ourselves about life and about ourselves. This is the essence of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT Therapy can provide mechanisms and tools to help you "reframe" your outdated, misinformed thoughts and lead you to healthier ways of thinking, feeling and being!

Motivational Interviewing

"Motivational Interviewing is a particular way of talking with people about change and growth to strengthen their own motivation and commitment." Motivational Interviewing is an effective intervention strategy for addressing several behavioral, physical, and mental health conditions. Instead of relying on the advice of a counselor, motivational interviewing enables clients to find their own reasons to make positive changes that will improve their well-being.
