Hello. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Georgia. I received my Masters from Troy University. I have been licensed for 10 years. I help clients who struggle with feeling helpless, hopeless and worthless as well as those who have experienced loss and anger. Change starts with hope. My hope is to help you work through these struggles and regain control of your life.
In our first session, we will start with brief introductions to the therapeutic relationship as we develop the beginning treatment plan that addresses your goal. The therapeutic relationship is unique from everyday relationship where listening is paramount in this welcoming, comfortable and safe setting. "I would ask: what bring you here today?" I would like to hear their story; what has been tried in the past and did not work for them.
My strength would include the ability to listen and understand my clients. I believe myself to be an authentic person who really cares about the well-being of others. I am a non-judgmental person; and I am capable of helping others to achieve their goal and attain a positive outcome.
Therapy is work; client have to be open-minded to new ideas; open to experience change. So, my ideal client would be the person who is motivated to improve, ready to do the work, and unwilling to give up on themselves.
CBT challenges automatic beliefs. I like it because it uses practical strategies to help clients identify and cope with specific challenges, raise self-esteem and increase thought process to be more positive. With the exercises and homework assignment, clients will develop coping skills to change their own thinking and behavior.
